Most of us suffer from lower back pain at some point in our lives; be it from a sedentary lifestyle, spending hours at the office desk or from strenuous physical exercises. In most cases, a little bit of rest does the trick. However, if the lower back pain persists for 3-6 weeks, physiotherapy is recommended.

How does physiotherapy help?

The main purpose behind physiotherapy is reducing lower back pain and increasing muscle and bone function, so that such instances are avoided in the future. Physiotherapy is the first line of defence against lower back pain. More drastic measures such as surgery are undertaken once physiotherapy fails to do is job.

Physiotherapy is often recommended when the back pain is caused due to lifestyle factors, a minor injury like a fall or other moderate factors. For more severe back injuries, doctors recommend surgery straight away when there is no scope of performing physiotherapy.

Low-intensity back pain can be cured using a combination of heat packs, ultrasound wave therapy and Iontophoresis (using a localized current source to introduce medical ionic compounds to the body).

A physical therapy program for back pain usually has two components:

  1. Passive physical therapy to help reduce the patient's pain to a more manageable level

  2. Active exercises

Passive Physical Therapy - Modalities

The physical therapist may focus on decreasing pain with passive physical therapy (modalities). These therapies are considered passive because they are done to the patient. Examples include:

  1. Heat/ice packs

  2. TENS units

  3. Iontophoresis

  4. Ultrasound

Active Physical Therapy - Back Pain Exercises

In addition to passive therapies, active physical therapy (exercise) is also necessary to rehabilitate the spine. Here are some of the common exercises for back pain:

  1. Back Stretch: Put your hands underneath your head while lying back. Bend your knees but put your feet on the ground. Roll your legs to one side and hold them there for 10 seconds. Repeat three times for each side.

  2. Deep Lunge: For this, you need to kneel on one knee with the other foot pointed towards the front. Lift the back knee up and hold it there for five seconds and then bring it down. Repeat this exercise three times for each side.

  3. One Leg Stand: This is the simplest of exercises. Hold on to a wall for support while standing and face towards it. Then slowly hold one leg and bend it behind you. Hold in the same position for five seconds before bringing it down. Repeat the process three times for each leg in five second gaps.

Hi Mukesh There is very simple and easy to follow diet plan with which you can lose 2-5kg in just 15days. This plan can be done by you easily. For Breakfast you take 150g curd, 30g Lipolyzer powder, 10g milk cream, 25g roasted flax seed, 100g any fruit, mix them all together in a bowl. Lunch – 2 Chapatti made with Nutroactive Brown Atta, 150g cooked vegetables, 150g green salads like cucumber and tomato. Dinner – 200g any cooked vegetable or vegetable soup only. Follow this diet plan exactly as said; you will surely lose few kilos immediately. .

Hello, CHEST PAIN in your case may be due to 1.acidity. 2. severe anxiety 3. muscular problem A. You can take Tablet Pantocid 40 mg (if no drug allergy) one tablet before food for 3 days B. Infertility - Causes And Treatment

Infertility is a condition wherein a woman does not get pregnant in spite of having unprotected intercourse over a period of a year or even more. An abnormal menstrual cycle that is either too short or too long, irregular or even scanty can be an indication of a lack of ovulation, which in turn, is another factor behind female infertility.

Causes:

  1. Ovulation disorders are characterized by either a lack of ovulation or irregular and infrequent ovulation. These are a major cause of infertility. This may be due to defects in the regulation of the reproductive hormones by the pituitary gland or the hypothalamus (brain center responsible for producing some of the most essential hormones required by the body). Malfunctioning of the ovary is another cause in itself. Polycystic ovarian syndrome, premature failure of the ovaries (a condition wherein a woman’s ovaries fail to function properly even before she is 40 years old), hypothalamic dysfunction (a dysfunction of the hypothalamus) and excessive production of prolactin (a hormone that stimulates milk production among women after childbirth) by the pituitary gland are some of the factors responsible for the occurrence of such a disorder.

  2. Damaged fallopian tubes do not allow the sperms to fuse properly with the egg. They might also prevent the fertilized egg from entering into the uterus. This condition may be caused due to pelvic inflammatory diseases (a group of infections of the reproductive organs in women), an infection in the fallopian tubes or the uterus caused due to various Sexually Transmitted Diseases, any abdominal surgery or surgery of the pelvic region and pelvic tuberculosis.

  3. Endometriosis, wherein the tissue that usually grows in the uterus, starts growing outside it, is another factor responsible for infertility.

  4. Several cervical or uterine disorders, such as tumors, inflammation within the uterus, uterine abnormalities, a cervical narrowing or the inability of the cervix to produce mucous for the sperm to travel to the uterus, are likely to impact fertility by obstructing implantation or enhancing the chances of miscarriage.

  5. A man’s fertility generally relies on the quantity and quality of his sperm. If the number of sperm a man ejaculates is low or if the sperm are of a poor quality, it will be difficult, and sometimes impossible, for him to cause a pregnancy. Male infertility is diagnosed when, after testing both partners, reproductive problems have been found in the male.

Treatments:

Fertility drugs can be used to regulate and induce ovulation. But they carry with them certain risks and therefore you should consult your physician prior to consumption. Few examples of these drugs are Clomiphene Citrate, Gonadotropins, Metformin, Letrozole and Bromocriptine.

  1. Surgical procedures can be recommended to correct reproductive abnormalities and restore fertility. A laparoscopic surgery or a tubal ligation reversal surgery (a surgery that unites one’s fallopian tubes again in order to enable the woman to have a baby) can be advised by the doctor.

  2. Reproductive assistance by Intrauterine insemination (a process that involves putting sperms inside a woman’s uterus in order to help her conceive) and Assisted reproductive technology (consisting of IVF and surrogacy). If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist.

Dear Sir chest pain/ palpitations is not only related to the heart but, It may also be caused by problems in your lungs, esophagus, muscles, ribs, or nerves, for example. Some of these conditions are serious and life threatening. Others are not. If you have unexplained chest pain, the only way to confirm its cause is to have a doctor evaluate you. Go for Cardiac Stress test.

I am suffering from low stamina. I feel very weak while working and while I am on sun. I can not do hard labour also. Can I increase my stamina?

To increase your stamina you need to have food/ drink every 2-3 hours. When in sun you need to have water with electrolytes (ors/ electral/ sugar+ salt). Fresh fruit juice, coconut water, cucumber, onion, watermelon, buttermilk (chans), lassi, cold milk, cold soup are some foods that will keep you cool & hydrated. Have at least 3 litres water daily. (more in daytime).

I am very much depressed all the time when I eat that time also I am depressed my brain is not working I think. More and and my papers are also not good I have low blood count and I sometimes wants to suicide, sometimes I do not want to eat I sometimes want only to sleep. This is happening with me since 1 month I always thinks and do not do anything my appetite is totally lost. I have no feelings but only fear of my marks, impression on teachers because I have not good heath due to low rbc and my mind is not working and having bad impression on teachers since many days. I have fear of going school that's why sometimes I want to suicide. When to write my hand shrinks and at night I become restless and sometimes I do not sleep. My parents always told me do not worry and be happy but my mind has totally lost. Only I can hear, listen,see but no activity I do only I think. I have drank bad water so that I got typhphoid and I will die but my life seems a load my mind is not working cause I have less rbc and when I do not want to eat something due to fear. My neighbourhood is also very bad. My mom dad dosent talk to anyone here and they also are not mixed up with each other because my health is not good. What should I do I want to suicide please tell me. I do not have a mood always to listen music, tv. And do not have any mood to go other because of neighbours and my mind is totally destroyed by watching these all things. Before I eat tasty things but now I do not want to eat tasty things. Do not have a reason to smile.

Feeling low, poor concentration, decreased attention, changes in sleep and appetite and decreased social interaction are signs of depression. If you are feeling suicidal, consult a psychiatrist immediately. To improve your health, take multivitamin and iron capsule daily; this will help to increase your hemoglobin and tiredness will reduce. Don't isolate yourself from friends and family. While studying take adequate breaks. Divide your portion into sections and set targets. You can consult me for further management if required.

1. Soak 8 to 10 dates, after removing the seeds, in a glass of water overnight.
2. The next morning, grind the dates along with the water until you get a syrup-like consistency.

For stomach pain take tablet Meftalspas-Ds and Avoid spicy food in your diet and Also avoid peanuts and potatoes in your diet and eat only curd rice or khichdi for few days and drink only boiled water

As said walking is best exercise for diabetic and that too for 35 minutes, whether the walk should be a brisk walk or do I need to walk fastly and is it necessary that I should also sweat during that walk and whether that walk can be at any time during the day or it has to be in morning only.

Yes, walk is very good fod sugar patient .u will walk any time atleast 30 to 45 min. U will feel healthy that time you will do brisk walk. If you will feel tired that time you will do normal walk .but keep monitoring your sugar levels. Take plenty of fluids.
