Insulin is best for you after 20 years of diabetes. It has no side effects. Other benefit with insulin is umbrella protection, even if you are not controlled, your organs are protected.

Thyroid doesn't cause weight gain more than 6-7 kg. So hypothyroidism treatment won't help to reduce weight more than 5-6 kg. What's your lipid profile? hereditary obesity history?

Take small amount of food. Avoid starchy foods. Take plenty vegetables, whole fruits, unrefined foods. Use fenugreek seeds with 1 cup water on an empty stomach in the morning. Use vinegar 1-2 tablespoon before meals can help to slow the post meal sugar level. Avoid underground vegetable, banana, pumpkin. Drink lots of water to be hydrated always and to lowers the calorie intake. Avoid fast foods, junk foods, processed foods. If you are taking medicine then adjust food intake. Do regular exercise to stay healthy and to lower the blood sugar level. Diet and exercise both will help to reduce medicinal dose.

Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. It is a difficult task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose – SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS), & HbA1C (inform me) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & life style. For diabetes, hypertension (high BP) and many long-term illness control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. For giving you regular follow up you ask me with all details like your daily eating pattern and medicines you take. I assure you a proper guidance. If you keep in touch personally. Your report is fairly good control and you need to continue medication as usual . Uric acid is not too much and can be controlled Normal Uric acid levels are 2.4-6.0 mg/dL (female) and 3.4-7.0 mg/dL (male). Normal values will vary from laboratory to laboratory. To reduce the uric acid levels in blood, you may need to limit intake of alcohol, sugary foods and reduce purine rich foods like meat, poultry, seafood and pulses. Vegetables such as cauliflower, asparagus, spinach, peas and mushroom also contain a lot of purines

For hypothyroidism only treatment is taking thyroxine tablets in prescribed dosage regularly without fail for life. Plus avoid cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, mustard, soya and soya products and coffee. Use whole grain flour breads, consume a lot of green vegetables (other than those mentioned) and exercise regularly. For you (uric acid 7.1 mg) if there is no symptom then there is no need for any medicine. All those with high uric acid are not likely to suffer with gout or any other problem. Your level is marginally high and nothing to worry about. Continue jogging.
