Recently there has been a sharp rise in young strokes and young heart attacks. The major causes behind these incidents are undiagnosed hypertension and hypercholestrolemia. Office workers especially it professionals have a sedentary lifestyle and are prone to such problems. What you can do?

Aside from good healthy habits like good diet and exercise, regularly undergo check ups. Check your blood pressure, cholesterol levels and thyroid function at least twice a year. If diagnosed early these disorders can be well controlled so that adverse events like a young heart attack or stroke can be prevented.

Change your diet and lifestyle how to do it I will teach you do not blindly believe your drs .They have misguided you and did tests what they wanted and not what you needed because they have not spent enough time in taking detailed history. Pain in your chest may not be an issue with your heart It can be due to a cause originating else where from the Muscle, Bone,Stomach, Lungs, Mineral deficiencies, Vitamin deficiency etc You are only treating the pain which is a symptom .Temporary fix like band aid You are missing the root cause which may be related to your diet, eating habits ,Lifestyle, stress etc you have not mentioned about your job and its nature any bowel complaints-any belching / flatulence / burping /heart burn your daily diet and eating habits, sleeping habits, exercising habits posture at work and study all need to be detailed The lesson you should learn is not to blindly believe your drs and the hospitals .They may have vested interests also. You should Take personal responsibility for your own health and not your doctor. Always take second and 3rd opinion so that you know you are getting the correct treatment and not getting ripped off. Do the Right tests done, Get the Right advice from the doctor who takes time to educate you before medicating you. I am a Lifestyle, and wellness Consultant from abroad, If Your cardiac test results are all normal but you are still having symptoms that clearly indicates your Dr. has not addressed your diet and lifestyle and has not educated you then you got only a temporary fix only. The triggers for chest pain varies from person to person and so only specific and personalized advice will be effective.

Cholesterol and almonds
Cholesterol and almonds:

Almonds make a delicious and healthy snack. They are rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins and healthy fats that are necessary for the body. Here is the list of the benefits of almonds that will give you enough reasons to add almond to your diet.

Regular consumption of almonds increases the level of high density lipoproteins and reduces the level of low density lipoproteins. Almonds are high in monounsaturated fats and health promoting fats. Almonds can lower ldl cholesterol up to 15 percent for every 7 grams of almonds per day.

Dear , if your echo and tmt are normal, then the chest heaviness can not be due to heart. Still I would advise you to consult a cardiologist in person.

Dear Lybrateuser, -To improve your condition do stop smoking & drinking as it raises BP & also the heart rate -do light exercises to start with as your system may not be able to adapt to the sudden strenuous exercises in the gym & may cause damage, start with a walk only on the treadmill, do warm up before the actual exercise & also do cooling down for 5-10 min -if still no improvement then get your BP checked up at rest as well as during exercise as if you have high bp then vigourous execise will put more strain on the heart & complete system which is damaging for it.
