If the child is taking other calcium containing foods like cabbage, broccoli etc milk consumption is not an issue at that age. Weight is o. K. For the age.

Is it normal for young children to stop taking or needing naps? My 3½-year-old hasn’t taken a nap in quite a while, but seems to do OK.

My baby is 7months old can any doc prescribed me what all foods should I start to my baby. As she is too weak.

General Physician,
My baby is 7months old can any doc prescribed me what all foods should I start to my baby. As she is too weak.
1. From the 7th month onward you can start feeding thrice a day as proper breakfast, lunch and early dinner. Now also breast feeding is the major source of nourishment to the baby, so please do not quit breast feeding. The feeding times can be around 9 am, 1 pm and 5 pm 2. The quantity for each feed in this month will be roughly the size of your baby’s fist and in terms of liter around 90 to 100 ml. 3. The consistency can be little thick and should stay in the spoon without spilling off. 4. Always feed a baby seated and not in sleeping position. 5. Sterilize all the utensils that are being used for cooking and feeding. 6. Please follow the 3 Day Rule before introducing any new food. I have structured the charts in a such way that the baby is gradually introduced to heavier diets, so I would advice you to follow the same order. Dear Sir/Madam, My daughter is 6 years old, above the buttocks there is a small hole are there. There is no pus are coming and no hair on it, whether she have to do surgery for that problem?

DNB (Pediatrics), Diploma in Child Health (DCH), MBBS
Pediatrician, Bhiwadi
By the sound of it, feels like what is called a sacral dimple. Can the floor of the dimple be seen to be covered with skin? If not, get it checked. Is there a tuft of hair in the dimple? This may also indicate problems. Are there any other problems such as weakness in lower limbs. How close to the buttocks is the dimple? The lower, the better. It is a very common and mildest form of Spina bifida. Nothing normally needs to be done. However u can get a ultrasound abdomen to look for associated anomalies (if any).

Are there any long-term effects associated with taking ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) medications? If so, what are they and what medications are implicated? What exactly is a spine block injection? Will it work long-term for low back pain due to disc problems? What causes Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and what is the best method of treatment? Can iodine help this condition?

Nature's Cavity Fighter

BDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Nature's Cavity Fighter

Fluoride is a mineral that helps fight tooth decay. It is found in public water supplies, toothpaste and many other dental products.

Often called, “nature’s cavity fighter,” fluoride helps repair the early stages of tooth decay even before the decay can be seen. Research shows that fluoride helps prevent cavities in children and adults by making teeth more resistant to the acid attacks that cause cavities. When you brush your teeth with fluoride toothpaste, use other fluoride dental products, and drink water with fluoride you are preventing cavities and strengthening your teeth’s outer surface, called enamel.

If you have a good chance of getting cavities, your dentist can apply fluoride to your teeth during your dental visit. Your dentist might also tell you to use a special fluoride rinse, paste or gel at home

My son (7 years) is adhd and mild auotium and taking acepta10 (1tab. At morning and half in the evening) and neurocetum (5 ml thrice a day). Still he is unable to concentrate in studies. Kindly advise any change in treatment.

Fellow Observership, Certificate in Forensic Psychology, MD-Psychiatry, MBBS

Hello; first you have to stop giving him neurocetum or similar named syrup you are giving him. What is your son's weight & height? c. Atomoxetine (acepta) is a very good medication & we can increase its dose depending on your sons responses like studies, behavior in class etc. In addition, there are other good medications like methylphenidate, clonidine also which can be prescribed if required. Do revert back for further help. Good luck.

Hi, thank you for your query. You have not mentioned the frequency and colour of the motions. It would be best to consult a doctor and get a stool routine examination done. You can give her plenty of oral fluids in the form of lemonade, butter milk to prevent dehydration. Give her semisolid diet. Wishing your daughter all the best. Regards,

MRCPCH, MBBS

Take steam before sleep n you can use nasoclear drop to put in nose if blocked. Also try to keep some gap in last meal of day n sleep time to avoid possible reflux which might be bothering you. If still bother then see your doctor for the same.

Gas formation may be due to maldigestion of some particular food item. Its best to avoid such identified food items. If not possible them digestive enzymes or simethicone after foods might help.
