I undergone ACL reconstruction surgery in March 2013. I still have little pain near patella. After running my upper part of thigh of same leg pains. I am doing mountaineering hence I need total fitness. I am 171 cm and 81 kg. Please guide me about this problem.

Have u done your proper ACL rehabilitation. If not then consult a sports physio near by u. And get your MMT done and tell him to teach u proprioceptive rehabilitation. And your hamstring workout. Thanks and regards Dr. Ritesh kharnal

My mother had a fracture two years ago in her left foot. Recently she is getting pain on her right foot. Doctors are saying that the Greece is less. She is aged 62. What exercise she can do and is there any need of operation?

Hi = relax and stay positive. = increase fluid intake. = eat seasonal fruits for natural vitamins = do streching of hamstring, quadriceps, and calf muscles. = if you are overweight, reduce weight by cycling or swimming as it gives low impact on joints. = do check your calcium and vit. D = apply moist heat pad to affected joint and muscles. If still you dont get relief consult physiotherapist as there are various causes for leg/ joint pain and some test may be required for further investigation. Best wishes.

I am having pain near coccyx area. Specially while riding bike. Its been more then 6 months. I cannot sit on hard and small surface due to this pain. Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi I am Dr. Deepak sampath from bangalore, it looks like you have what is called as coccyxdynia, use a ring pillow whenever and wherever you are sitting for another 3 to 6 months. Pain will go gradually.

I had near accident while driving two wheeler around month of march , not visible wound but I stretch my right leg to avoid accident. At that time there was no pain but when I started to do some belly exercise, then 2 week later it started to pain around the area of knee I can jog a bit but when I stretch my right leg I give the pain . You should take acupressure therapy and take biochemic mag phos 200x + calc flour 200x, 4 tab each thrice a day with warm water and take it 5 days

If you are pregnant obviously you will have generalized pain due to the fact that the foetus grows and it throws more pressure in the lower back and this is the major cause for back pain in the first trimester of pregnancy. It looks like you are anaemic. If you have back pain after you sit for long hours then it is due to your haemoglobin levels as it is important to check that. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. Pain in the foot, ankle and stiffness of the lower leg is due to constant pain and that makes the leg to have less blood circulation due to less movements and that becomes rigid for which doing hot water fermentation will help and also MCR chappals can be used to feel relaxed and comfortable along with Lumbosacral belt to improve the abdominal muscle tone

I have started morning running+walking from yesterday. And when I go today and started running then I was getting pain in my leg muscles. I was not able to run and only walk slowly and come back. But I want to continue it don? t want stop but also I want to release from this pain every day. Want to tell you that my age is 29, height is 5. 1 and weight is around 50 kg. I am not under weight and not over weight but still I have little fat on my waist. I have little belly fat and having two fat wrinkles on my waist. Also my stomach is not flat, I am having belly fat. I want to remove it totally. I am going to get married after 1 month and want to wear lehenga and sari. For that I have to remove my fat. Kindly suggest how can I remove my belly fat and how can I release my leg pain with continue running.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You appear to be a very determined to be bride. Anyway what I understand from your history is that you have 2 issues: one is leg pain and other is belly fat. Your leg pain started because your leg muscles are not used to this kind of load. Normally you should always start with less and increase it gradually over a period of time with regular muscle strengthening. Also you need to do a pre-exercise regime wherein you stretch your muscles and do a light warm up before actually starting to run. Normally it builds up over a period of time, but process has to be a slow and a steady one. Now since you have pain: please start with ice packs, limb elevation, restriction of your physical activity tom as much as possible, gentle otc anti-inflammatory as per your suitability. Your pain should settle in about 5-7 days time. Your weight in any case is not much, so do not worry about burning those extra calories please. Hello , now you should wait for your periods to start for 10 more days.This delay is possible because of excess bleeding after the termination of pregnancy.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana -- Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day.

I am 46+ yrs old ht. - 5' & wt. 55 Kg. Menopause had started after 45. Generally my BP is low. I am suffering from Back & knee pain. For last one week knee & back got severe. In the morning when I get up I feel very tiring & have body ache. My sleep disturbs at the night, thoughts moving in my mind during sleep.

I'll suggest to do x ray. Till then 1) do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min. Afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) start natural calcium supplement. 3) do regular stretching exercise 4) in yoga do bhujangasan, halasan & suryanamaskar. This will give you relief in mild to moderate cases. Give feedback after 7 days.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contact your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Why not discuss with me in a video conference? Since your age shown was 27only, I will suggest you to reduce your workouts. Apply cold compress for 10/mins every 2 hours. Secondly you may start taking calcium supplements. If pain persists x-ray knee ap and lat view bilateral knee. Thyroid profile lipid profile. Consult us with reports.

Core strengthening exercises- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day.

Hi I can understand your problem. For pain and swelling apply cold pack for 20 min. Thrice a day for 5 days. There are various reasons for shoulder and heel pain and there are different non surgical treatment options for same in physiotherapy. dear user. use ls belt as suggested. do back strengthening excercises. take tens and ultrasonic therapy for 15 days. this will help you in reducing pain.
