I am 27 years old eyes is all time redness.

DOMS, MBBS
Ophthalmologist,
I am 27 years old eyes is all time redness.
Red eye has many causes. You have to see if it is associated with blurring of vision, pain, discharge and other complaints. But commonly its allergic or infective in origin ie allergic or infective conjunctivitis. Which has simple treatment protocol. But still its wise to see an ophthalmologist for a thorough slit lamp examination to rule out other differentials for acute red eye.

Sir how to decrease my eye sight without any side effects occur and how two overcome this sight problem.
Hello,do these exercises for eyes to strengthen the eye muscles :- Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

I have yellow eyes from many months also they becomes red in summer season what should I do?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
I have yellow eyes from many months also they becomes red in summer season what should I do?
Yellow Eyes since one year indicates many problems and some of the important ones are 1. Liver diseases such as jaundice, hepatitis and cirrhosis 2.Pterygium is a growth on the cornea (the clear front window of the eye) and the conjunctiva , the thin, filmy membrane that covers the white part of your eye (sclera). This growth is noncancerous and is fairly common. It is a triangular-shaped growth of fleshy tissue on the white of the eye that eventually extends over the cornea. This growth may remain small or grow large enough to interfere with vision. A pterygium can often develop from a pinguecula. Some pterygia may become red and swollen on occasion, and some may become large or thick, making you feel like you have something in your eye. If a pterygium is large enough, it can actually affect the shape of the cornea’s surface, leading to astigmatism. 3.Pinguecula is also a growth on the cornea (the clear front window of the eye) and the conjunctiva , the thin, filmy membrane that covers the white part of your eye (sclera). This is Non-Cancerous. It is a yellowish patch or bump on the conjunctiva, near the cornea. It most often appears on the side of the eye closest to the nose. It is a change in the normal tissue that results in a deposit of protein, fat and/or calcium. It is similar to a callus on the skin It is not entirely clear what causes pterygia and pinguecula to develop. Ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun is believed to be a factor in the development of these growths. Other factors believed to cause pterygia and pingueculae are dry eye and environmental elements such as wind and dust. My suggestion for you is to 1.Go for Blood tests empty stomach for CBC,THYROID PROFILE,LIPID PROFILE,LFT 2.Consult an Eye Specialist for a physical examination to rule out Pterygium and Pinguecula

Hello. There is no medication or food for improving eye sight or to get rid of glasses. Get your vision tested and wear glasses. If not interested in glasses then you can try a. Contact lens b. Lasik laser as your age is now 23 years so your number will not increase now whether you wear glasses or not as number becomes stable at age of 18-20 yrs. Having said that I advise you to eat balanced diet including green vegetables and seasonal fruits for keeping eyes and body healthy. Lasik is a very easy and painless procedure. If you want to get rid of glasses then go for lasik.

Hello lybrate-user. Sorry about your problem. It can be quite cumbersome to have a lot of discharge (sticky substance) coming from the eyes. There are multiple causes associated with it. Let me enumerate a few for you: (1)(1) allergy of the eye. It is usually caused by improper eye hygiene. There is a tendency to rub the eyes with fingers, handkerchief, cloth, etc. This is not a good habit because it tends to transmit lots of virus, bacteria and dust into the eye. Allergy usually presents with symptoms of watering (clear water), redness and itching of the eye. (2) infectious conjunctivitis: this is usually associated with white-yellowish discharge. If so, it would be a good idea to go and show to an eye specialist in person. (3) foreign body lodged in the eye. This is more commonly associated with people who drive 2 wheeler vehicles without protection. It occurs more commonly in one eye. Foreign bodies that commonly get lodged are eyelashes, insect wings, small insects, dust particles, iron particles (more common with people working in the iron industry) the solution for a foreign body lodged in the eye would be better provided by an eye specialist at the clinic. The basis of all these aforementioned problems is improper/ inadequate eye hygiene. Usually the body hygiene is taken care of quite well. This is not the same with the eyes. The reason being that we tend to rub our eyes with fingers, use handkerchief, clothes, etc. This would cause a lot allergy, bacteria and dust to get transferred to the eyes. So the prime thing to be remembered is to avoid touching the eyes with the above mentioned things. A good idea would be to keep washing your eyes 4 to 5 times daily with clean hands and clean water. This would enable the debris and the dust to be debulked and washed off. You could also use a lubricant eye drop 5 to 6 times daily along with an antibiotic eye drop 4 times in a day. Cover your eyes with appropriate wear (helmet/ sunglasses) when going out in dust or polluted environment. On the whole, adopt a holistic approach rather than just resorting to the medications. This will succeed in relieving you off your problems. Take care. Hope my suggestions helped you. Take care.

Blurred vision cause by intermediate uvietis clear when? i m on steriod drop n medicine plzz help

MBBS, DOMS
Ophthalmologist, Hyderabad
Hi , Intermediate uveitis can get relieved sometimes by prednisolone tablets and some more medicines added together. In some individuals, it may need next group of medicines called immunosuppressants, either as injection into eye or simply tablets taken orally. You will need regular followup with your eye surgeon. Recurrences are possible, but if you get them treated quickly, major longterm sequelae can be avoided.
