Prostatitis treatments vary depending on the underlying cause. They can include: Antibiotics. This is the most commonly prescribed treatment for prostatitis. Your doctor will base the choice of medication on the type of bacteria that may be causing your infection. If you have severe symptoms, you may need intravenous (IV) antibiotics. You'll likely need to take oral antibiotics for four to six weeks but may need longer treatment for chronic or recurring prostatitis. Alpha blockers. These medications help relax the bladder neck and the muscle fibers where your prostate joins your bladder. This treatment may lessen symptoms, such as painful urination. Anti-inflammatory agents. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may make you more comfortable. Prostate massage. This is done by your physician using a lubricated, gloved finger — a procedure similar to a digital rectal exam. It may provide some symptom relief, but doctors disagree about how effective it is. Other treatments. Other potential treatments for prostatitis are being studied. These treatments include heat therapy with a microwave device and drugs based on certain plant extracts

I am 70 years. I am diagnosed as COPD, RLL Bronchiectasis and Emphysema. Now ECHO suggests Grade 1 LVDD. Bronchodilator and cortisone nebulisation prescribed along with theophylline oral. My normal pulse rate at rest was 85 to 90. Now it will go upto 130 for some time in a day and later settles at 90. What steps I should take live with minimum comfort as long as I live, say one or two years.

Tachycardia may be due to levolin nebulization. Get adult vaccination for pneumoccocal pneumonia invassive and flu, join a pulmonary rehabilitation programme, consering bronchictasis avoid contisone nebulization as it will increase chances of infection and use ultra short laba and lama combination in place of foracort.

What is symptom of swine flu how to be get safe that I should not get couched it.

BAMS

What is symptom of swine flu how to be get safe that I should not get couched it.
Hi, The following are the symptoms of swine flu: - Sore throat, - Stuffy nose - Cough - Fever and chills (not always) - Bodyache and headache - Nausea and vomitting - Diarrhoea - Fatigue All these symptoms appear within 1-3 days duration. Please follow these precautions: - Avoid touching nose, eyes or mouth frequently. - Cover your face while coughing or sneezing with a tissue or handkerchief and make sure people around you also follow the same. - Avoid public places, crowded areas and unhygienic conditions as ther is a possibility of catching an infection. - If you are feeling sick, stay back at home and take rest so that you can avoid spreading of the disease and even you can recover fast if you take adequate rest. - In swine flu endemic areas, wear standard Swine flu mask (H-95 mask) which are worn by the doctors and sample collecting technicians. Regular surgical mask which sold in the market like hot cakes are not good enough to prevent the entry of the viruses. - Maintain personnel hygiene by washing your hands before and after eating and after visiting public places.

Have a migraine problem and when we had MRI scanning all was normal. Suggestions?

COMT, MPTh/MPT
Physiotherapist, Surat
MRI reports are normal that seems nothing serious. Headaches due to migraine is very common these days especially in young adults because of there lifestyle and working environment. Sometimes pain is very severe on one side of the head.  So I would recommend you to avoid stress and anxiety, quiet the mind from distractions. Stay calm positive and do deep breathing exercises, listen some music that would give you some relaxation. If pain is severe then place ice pack over forehead and lie down for some time to relax your mind and give you comfort and stress full life. Massage your head using levander oil or clove oil as it removes toxins from body. You can use mint or clove spray for inhaling in case of headache. If pain is severe you can also apply ginger paste over the painful area. Avoid taking caffeine, alcohol, phenylethylamine (found in chocolate and cheese), tyramine (found in nuts and fermented meats, cheeses, and soy), and aspartame (in many artificially sweetened foods) as sometimes these all exaggerate pain instead use basil leaves tea or ginger tea boiled nicely in water without milk. Regular intake of healthy dietry food rich in proteins and vitamins. Avoid fasting - Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at fixed timings. Make yourself busy by fulfilling your hobby as it will give you freshness and your mind will be diverted from normal life which help in pain reduction. Take min 7 hours of sleep. Make a habit of 20-25 min walking daily along with some meditations. If required then only take pain relieving tablets. For more help or instructions please consult. Good Luck and Get Well Soon.

I am a 32 years old male. I am suffering from typhoid approx 5 years. What should can I do?

MBBS
General Physician, Delhi
You have not clearly mentioned your symptoms or the reason why you believe you are suffering from typhoid. However, let me assure you that typhoid is an infectious disease and sustaining the disease for 5 years is not feasible. In such a long time, either it would have cured on its own accord or would have developed complications for which you would have been forced to go to a doctor. So whatever you are suffering from, its very unlikely that its typhoid. Kindly post ypur symptoms in a little detail, or visit a doctor to help find the cause of whatever discomfort you are feeling.

It is due to mumps parotitis. Conservative, supportive medical care is indicated for patients with mumps. No antiviral agent is indicated for treatment of this viral illness, as mumps is a self-limited disease. Encouraging oral fluid intake is essential, as maintenance of adequate hydration and alimentation of patients is important. Refrain from acidic foods and liquids as they may cause swallowing difficulty, as well as gastric irritation. Prescribe analgesics (acetaminophen, ibuprofen) for headaches or discomfort due to parotitis. Topical application of warm or cold packs to the swollen parotid area may soothe the region. Stronger analgesics may be required for patients with orchitis. Bed rest, scrotal support, and ice packs are recommended.

I'm suffering from dengue what should l do. Please tell me.

CCEDM(DIABETES), MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS
General Physician,
I'm suffering from dengue what should l do. Please tell me.
Watch for warning signs as temperature declines 3 to 5 days after symptoms/fever began, as this is the most dangerous period when platelet counts decline significantly. Report immediately to hospital if any of the following warning signs appear: Severe abdominal pain or persistent vomiting Red spots or patches on the skin Bleeding from nose or gums Vomiting blood Black, tarry stools (feces, excrement) Drowsiness or irritability Pale, cold, or clammy skin Difficulty breathing There is no specific medication for treatment of a dengue infection. Persons who think they have dengue should use analgesics (pain relievers) with acetaminophen (crocin or dolo -650 mg) and avoid those containing ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin or aspirin containing drugs. They should also rest, drink plenty of fluids like coconut water, lime water etc. To prevent dehydration. Preventing dengue fever: the best way to prevent the disease is to prevent bites by infected mosquitoes.

Premature ejaculation is because of anxiety-either specifically about sexual performance or related to other issues, stress, dietary insufficiency, depression. New partner, guilt, abnormal hormone levels, thyroid problems. First we have to rule out actual cause of your premature ejaculation. *do exercise daily 45 min. * eat healthy diet. * avoid smoking, limit your alcohol.

yes, diabetic patients may not have classical angina pain. it is recommended to have bypass in diabetics, but in single vessel disease angioplasty with stent has excellent results .go with your treating doctors advice.
