I'm a Male 60, diagnosed with early stage Rheumatoid Arthritis. Suffer stiff fingers. More in the morning. But the stiffness lingers to a lesser extent during the whole day. Should I take a steroid injection (recommended by a rheumatologist at a city hospital)?

Ayurveda, Jaipur
Steroid will harm your body in the long run - no doubt in that. The dosage will be increased with the passage of time so it is not advisable to start with steroids. Ayurveda has great scope in curing rheumatoid arthritis. The pain management includes not only the reduction in the pain but also the therapies and the medicines improve the lubrication of the joints. The panchakarma therapy is greatly beneficial in the rheumatoid patients. The detoxification of the body is done with the help of panchakarma. The complete detox of your body with the help of ayurveda's panchakarma therapy. It includes abhyangam (massage with medicated oils) n medicated steam bath. This wud rejuvenate your body - improving your work efficiency and bettering your sleep. Also take shirodhara which would completely take the stress out of your body and you will feel light, fresh and full of energy.

Hello, sir I am suffering pain in my leg before two days.In this serious moment what I do sir?
: keep your leg raised while sitting or lying quadriceps strengthening exercises- quad clenches: lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short arcs: lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight leg raise: lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

There are many theories regarding joint sounds. But these sounds are considered normal if not associated with pain. Strengthening of the muscles around your elbow and knee will help to reduce the sound. But it will not eliminate it.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. See, if you have numbness in one half of the body, it is important to clinically examine you and focus has to be on cervical spine and brain region. Since this is a slightly sensitive issue, I will advise you to get in touch of a neurophysician and get a detailed evaluation done for yourself. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
