Pcod is a lifestyle disorder and can disappear if certain healthy changes are made. If you feel that period was light and you could be pregnant, do urine test for pregnancy. You will be surprised to know that some women get drops of blood on date despite being pregnant continue with folic acid get ultrasound done to confirm that you don't have pcod. There can be other reasons for little bleeding during periods get basic investigation done as suggested above and get back here with reports for more guidance.

Keep PCOS at BAY

Polycystic ovary syndrome is one of the most common diseases that are faced by the women of today and the major reason for this is the lack of healthy balanced diet. Pcos is a disease that prevails most commonly in obese or over-weight women. Women with pcos have higher level of insulins than normal and this causes your ovaries to produce excess androgens.

The pcos diet consists of food high in fibre and protein. High fibre food can help combat insulin resistance by slowing down digestion and reducing the effect of sugar on the blood. High fibre food includes beans, lentils, leafy vegetables, almonds and sweet potatoes. Lean protein plays a crucial part in the pcos diet as it ensures that it is filling and is a health dietary option for women. Lean protein is concentrated in food such as tofu, chicken and fish. The diet should also include food reducing inflammation such as tomatoes, kale, spinach and almonds and olive oil.

There are certain food items that should be avoided if you have pcos. They include foods with refined carbohydrates such as white bread, snacks and drinks with high sugar levels and inflammatory food such as red meat. Pcos like many other diseases is positive to proactive lifestyle. Weight loss dieticians state that a healthy diet along with daily exercises would keep pcos at bay.

Dear user. I can understand. You have a psychological behavior disorder named transvestism. Transvestite is a person, typically a man, who derives pleasure from dressing in clothes primarily associated with the opposite sex. This can be cleared with the help of repeated counseling and cognitive behavior therapy. Take care.

Dear lybrate-user PCOS is a very common hormonal abnormality. So not to worry. All you need to do for achieving pregnancy is to take medications for egg development from the second day of your period and follow it up with follicular monitoring to ensure that the dose of medication you are taking is sufficient enough for egg development. Good luck.

MBBS, MD Psychiatry, DNB Psychiatry

Unsafe sex 8 years ago, with a normal recent HIV report should not worry you at all. Yes you can lead a normal life. Having more than one partner is your choice because unsafe sex with partners make you more vulnerable for any sexually transmitted disease.

Please note that you need to do follicular monitoring to know if an egg is forming every month, does it gets released or not. If you try with follicular monitoring chances of getting pregnant will increase. Also you need to do some basic hormonal tests which can interfere with process of conception.

Super Fact of the Day: Our saliva production equals to 2 swimming pools!
Saliva production is the highest during and before eating and is the lowest when we are asleep. While the mouth produces 1-2 litres of saliva per day, in a lifetime we generate about 25, 000 quarts of saliva that can easily fill up to two swimming pools.

Role of Hysteroscopy Diagnosing of Infertility

MBBS, DGO, MD, Fellowship in Gynae Oncology
Gynaecologist, Delhi
Role of Hysteroscopy Diagnosing of Infertility

Hysteroscopy is considered as a therapeutic modality and a valuable detection in the management or treatment of infertility. It is a process whereby a doctor checks the uterus cavity to treat the cause of abnormal menstrual bleeding which may be impeding chances of conception. It is performed with the help of a hysteroscope (a thin tube) inserted in the uterus to detect and examine the cervix (lower end of the uterus). Its role has changed and modified overtime.

Hysteroscopy is performed to find out certain causes of infertility; which may be:

  1. Problem in the size or shape of the uterus.

  2. Repeated miscarriages.

  3. Endometrial cancer (a cancer of the uterus).

  4. Scar tissue in the uterus.

How and when to prepare for hysteroscopy?

  1. The best time for hysteroscopy to be carried out is when one is not on her menstruating cycle.

  2. Make sure not to insert tampons or use vaginal medicines 24 hours prior to the surgery.

  3. An anesthetic will be given to relax you before hysteroscopy.

How is it performed?

The procedure begins with the administration of anesthesia.

  1. The cervix will be widened (dilated) by the doctor to insert the hysteroscope.

  2. The hysteroscope is then inserted into the uterus through the vaginal tract and the cervix.

  3. The uterine cavity is expanded by the usage of carbon dioxide gas. The blood and mucus is then cleared. This is done once the hysteroscope is put into the uterine cavity.

  4. The hysteroscope light allows the doctor to see and diagnose the problem in the uterine cavity by observing the openings of the fallopian tubes (tubes through which the eggs travel from ovaries to the uterus).

Expectations after the procedure:

  1. You will have to be observed for a few hours before you are allowed to go home.

  2. Post-surgery vaginal bleeding or cramping is also common.

  3. In case carbon dioxide gas is used in the surgery, mild shoulder pain might be another botheration. However, it should subside within a day or two.

  4. It is also completely normal to feel slightly sick or even have a few bouts of fainting.

Certain complications which might require medical attention are:

  1. Heavy vaginal discharge or bleeding

  2. Acute fever

  3. Acute abdominal pain

There is no relation between blood in urine and pimples on face, so you need to be investigated for urine rm ,urine cs ,serum creatinine ,serum calcium, serum uric acid and x ray kub, consult urologists and dermatologist. Take plenty of fluids orally and avoid oily and spicy food, wash your face frequently with mild soap, keep your fingers away from face.
