ROUGHAGE/ DIETARY FIBER

BHMS
Homeopath, Sindhudurg
ROUGHAGE/ DIETARY FIBER
Dietary fiber is that part of food (vegetables, fruits, nuts, cereals) that remains undigested. Certain foods are a good source of roughage than others. Following foods provide at least 3 gms of dietary fiber.
Bran cereals 1/3 cup
Green vegetables 1 cup
Corn 1 cup
Turnip 1 cup
Apple (unpeeled) 1 large (180 gm.)
Orange 1 large (200 gm.)
Pear 1 large (180 gm.)
Almonds with skin 8 nuts
Various beans 1/2 cup

Dietary fiber and digestion: fiber requires extra chewing which stimulates the release of saliva that breaks down the starches and clears the teeth. The small intestine absorbs most of the nutrients. Unabsorbed or undigested food passes into colon or large intestine. The fiber acts like a sponge holding water, thus producing a soft stool which moves easily.

Types of fibers: there are two types of fibers: insoluble and soluble. Insoluble fiber does not dissolve in water and is found in wheat bran, cereals, breads, fruits & vegetables with their peal. Soluble fiber forms a gel in water. It is found in fruits & vegetables, dried beans and peas and psyllium (isabgol).

Benefits: dietary fiber is associated with prevention of chronic diseases like cancer and coronary heart disease. 20-30 gms. Of fibers should be consumed daily for a healthy life. 10 gms. Per day from psyllium reduces high blood cholesterol. A high fiber diet is usually lower in total fat.

Try to take rest. Look whether there is any swelling or any discharge from the breast or not and also whether the pain increases during periods or not. If the pain does not subside, please consult doctor.

MBBS
General Physician,
Don't worry dear. You are alright. The medication has helped you and having periods suggests that you are not pregnant. Still if you are tense, you can test urine for pregnancy with the help of simple kit easily available in medical stores or free of charge in government hospitals. Other symptoms may be treated apart from that mishap.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Post graduate in counselling psychology
Psychologist,
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

We typically seek counselling or psychotherapy when our old ways lead to problems and starts affecting us and the relationships we are into.

In conventional therapy, you may spend one or two hours per week developing new skills and exploring alternative perspectives. Once you leave my office, I hope you will incorporate the work you did into your daily life. Sometimes I will assign you “homework” that reinforces the concepts addressed in your session. You might choose to journal or simply think about what you learned to make better sense of it and to uncover new insights for your next appointment.

This consistent attention to your therapy leads to continuity, the unbroken thread that ties together your revelations from week to week. This is the key to lasting change. You and I plant the seeds for change in your session, and then your independent efforts allow them to take root and grow into the foundation for an improved life.

If your needs are minimal, or you just need someone to listen and give you quick fix solutions , this pattern could work for you. However, if your goals revolve around healing deep-seated hurts, improving relationships, or breaking lifelong habits, this pattern needs a lot of hard work. Without consistent effort between sessions, your therapy may feel disconnected from or even irrelevant to your daily life. If you don’t complete the tasks assigned to you each week, you miss the opportunity to practice new skills that contribute to the goals you set for yourself.

Your decision may create more peace in your life and/or lead to the end of important relationships. Your decision may leave you stuck in an untenable situation and/or open your eyes to the positive aspects of your life that you previously ignored. Whatever you do, make sure your choice not to change is the one that feels right for you.

When I ask you to practice a new behaviour, it is expected that you will feel uncomfortable and may stumble on your new path. I want you to challenge your status quo and take small, calculated risks that result in an incremental change.

Changing your life requires work. Weekly therapy sessions are just the beginning. The real work happens between sessions when you actively engage in the creation of change and commit to making it last.

Sir, My wife got pregnancy on 08/03/2016 after one month she went regular checkups then we found she got thyroid with 14.6 and she taken medicines for thyroid (thyronorm 50) and we shifted family from there. Recently we met doctor for check ups she told once check TSH and we taken that test and the result was 3.78, doctor told us take medicine same dose (thyronorm 50) my question is it reduced from 14 to 3.78 whether still continue the same dose, is it right and what your prescription please tell us.

MD - Homeopathy, BHMS
Homeopath, Greater Noida
Hello, increase in tsh is physiological in puberty and pregnancy. Thyronrom is a supplement for thyroid hormone if not produced by the body in required quantity. Thyroid activity increases during this time. So it requires a supplement. You should continue with the medicine even if the levels have gone down atleast till the end of the pregnancy. After that it is decided, whether to continue or tapper off with or without homoeopathic medicines. Regards.

Got get a urine pregnancy kit test done for confirming pregnancy. You may also have an sexually acquired infection of vaginal tract if it's not pregnancy. Usually the discharge would be foul smelling in that case.
