Causes of Insomnia (difficulty falling and/or staying asleep): * Significant life stress (job loss or change, death of a loved one, divorce, moving) Illness * Emotional or physical discomfort * Environmental factors like noise, light, or extreme temperatures (hot or cold) that interfere with sleepSome medications (for example those used to treat colds, allergies, depression, high blood pressure, and asthma) may interfere with sleep *Interferences in normal sleep schedule (jet lag or switching from a day to night shift.) * Depression and/or anxiety Treatment advice:     - Get all the underlying Mental (like depression or anxiety) and physical health conditions treated.    - Learn some self hypnosis or other relaxation techniques and practice them.      - Good Sleep Habits (sleep hygiene)  for Beating Insomnia: *Try to go to sleep at the same time each night and get up at the same time each morning. * Try not to take naps during the day, because naps may make you less sleepy at night. * Avoid caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol late in the day. Caffeine and nicotine are stimulants and can keep you from falling asleep.  * Alcohol can cause waking in the night and interferes with sleep quality. Get regular exercise. *Try not to exercise close to bedtime, because it may stimulate you and make it hard to fall asleep. Experts suggest not exercising for at least three to four hours before the time you go to sleep. * Don't eat a heavy meal late in the day. A cup of cold milk before bedtime, however, may help you sleep. *Make your bedroom comfortable. Be sure that it is dark, quiet, and not too warm or too cold. If light is a problem, try a sleeping mask. If noise is a problem, try earplugs. * Follow a routine to help you relax before sleep. Read a book, listen to light instrumentsl music, or take a bath. * If you can't fall asleep and don't feel drowsy, get up and read or do something that is not overly stimulating until you feel sleepy. * If you find yourself lying awake worryingabout things, try making a to-do list before you go to bed. This may help you to not focus on those worries overnight. ***consult professional if the problem persists too long or affects your daily life.

Homeopath, Faridabad
Hi, Either it could be due to general weakness of the body or ask his doctor about the side-effects of his ongoing medication. Would advise you to give him homoeopathic medicines - Alfaalfa Tonic and Five Phos. - both thrice daily. Revert.

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Dear Lybrate User, There are two types of Diabetes Type 1 and type 2.causes including the followiing:- Type 1 diabetes is caused by the immune system destroying the cells in the pancreas that make insulin. *This is called an autoimmune reaction, or autoimmune cause, because the body is attacking itself. *There is no specific diabetes causes, but the following triggers may be involved: *Viral or bacterial infection *Chemical toxins within food *Breathing difficulties (e.g., sleep apnea, asthma) *Unidentified component causing autoimmune reaction *Underlying genetic disposition may also be a type 1 diabetes cause. **Type 2 diabetes causes are usually multifactorial - more than one diabetes cause is involved. Often, the most overwhelming factor is a family history of type 2 diabetes. This is the most likely type 2 diabetes cause. *There are a variety of risk factors for type 2 diabetes, any or all of which increase the chances of developing the condition. These include: *Obesity *Living a sedentary lifestyle *Increasing age *Bad diet

My penis size is4. 8"when it is fully erect .is it enough for successful intercourse and satisfied any girl?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
are some key points about the average penis size. While 85% of women were satisfied with the size and proportion of their partner's penis men were less sure of themselves.1  45% of men believe they have a small penis.  It has been concluded that flaccid lengths range around 7 to 10 centimetres (2.8-3.9 inches).  Flaccid circumferences range around 9 to 10 centimetres (3.5 to 3.9 inches).  Erect lengths range around 12 to 16 centimetres (4.7 to 6.3 inches).  Erect circumference is around 12 centimetres (4.7 inches).  A higher BMI and older age appear to be weakly associated with a shorter erect penis length.  Male concern about whether penile size lives up to the desires of females seems to be Largely misplaced.. One study suggested that while the majority of women, some 85%, were satisfied with the size and proportion of their partner's penis, men were less sure of themselves.1 Almost half of men in the study (45%) believed they had a small penis - yet the researchers reported that small penis size was actually rare. The average penis size to be as follows: Average length for an erect penis is 14.2 cm (5.6 inches) Average circumference of an erect penis is 12.2 cm (4.8 inches). Men who want surgery to increase the length of their penis should try non-invasive methods like penile traction devices or extenders first, and in some cases, even try therapy to make them feel more confident about their bodies. There is no proven scientific method to increase size, girth or grip of penis although many false claims have been propagated by advertisements. The size is determined by an individual’s genetic build and length actually has no relation with sexual pleasure or satisfaction as many wrongly believe. Be happy with your individual qualities nature has bestowed on you. At present, there is no proof of any non-surgical technique that permanently increases either the thickness or length of a normal penis. Some general research has been done regarding the safety and efficacy (or lack thereof) of the ingredients of various pharmaceutical or quasi-pharmaceutical preparations, but thus far, nothing has emerged to cause mainstream medicine to adopt any of them. There are also risks inherent in some of the more invasive procedures, with negative outcomes ranging from the tearing of skin and scarring, to permanent loss of sexual function.
