Hye, thanks for the query. Being underweight can be a concern if it's the result of poor nutrition. Here are some healthy ways to gain weight when you're underweight: eat more frequently. When you're underweight, you may feel full faster. Eat five to six smaller meals during the day rather than two or three large meals. Choose nutrient-rich foods. As part of an overall healthy diet, choose whole-grain breads, rice and cereals; fruits and vegetables; dairy products; lean protein sources; and nuts. Don't fill up on diet soda, coffee and other drinks with few calories and little nutritional value. Instead, drink smoothies or healthy shakes. Snack on nuts, dried fruits and fresh fruits. Even when you're underweight, be mindful of excess sugar and fat. An occasional slice of cake or ice cream is fine. But most sweets should be healthy and provide nutrients in addition to calories. Sheera, lassi and chikki are good choices. Exercise, especially strength training, can help you gain weight by building up your muscles. Exercise may also stimulate your appetite.

Pls sir my height 5.4 but my health very good & fit so pls ask me my height improvement. Thanks.
Follow methods by which you can gain your desired height. 1. Follow these exercises regularly and you get the goal of height gain: * first stand straight bare foot on floor, then raise your arms upwards then raise your heels of foot with breathing in, try to stand on heels for 10-12 seconds and slowlylower down your heels back on the floor and breath outthe air. Repeat this exercise 5-8 times in morning. *sit on the floor, stretch you legs together so that both foot touch each other. Now raise your arms upwards together with back straight, now move your hands towardstoes of feet and touch them. Your forehead touching your knees. Slowly revert back the arms and move back arms in normal position. Repeat this exercise 2-4 times daily. 2. Take 300 ml of rich cream milk, 200 gm of cheese and 2-3 eggs regularly. It will definitely give boost to your bone growth. 3. Sit in sun rays for atleast 8-10 minutes in morning of evenings when the sun rays are not so strong. It will help you by getting adequate quantity of vitamin-d. 4. The growth and height iscontrolled by growth hormone whichis secreted by pituitary gland situated in the brain. So take meditation and have a stressfree lifestyle. Take 6-8 hours of sleep daily. Meditation makes your pituitatry gland healthy and working properly. 5. Planning is important for every work. First divide the syllabus. How many chapters. Write on one note book. Write how many questions in each chapter. Start slowly with small questions. Then note down how many questions are you covered for one day. Based on your capacity you may plan how much time it will take then you will achieved. Without planning simply sit in the in the home and imaging unnecessarily about I am very lazy etc it is useless. Try the the work. Slowly solve in a systematic manner. Then you achieved be think always in a positive manner. Do not get depressed easily you have very good capacity use it in a proper manner. Ok best of luck.

1. Protein is the key for the muscle building. Without adequate protein, muscle gain and growth is not possible because weight training demands for amino acids (which comes from protein). You should daily eat about 2.2g of protein per kilogram of your weight. For example, if you are 50kg, then you should eat 50x2.2=111g of protein spread over 5-6 meals in the day. Include high protein foods in your diet. Your protein intake should be from foods rather than from supplements. Good protein foods: beans, soybeans, whey, fish, dairy products (low fat variety), meats, nuts and seeds (almonds, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds), peanut butter. Many of these are easy digestible foods. Milk is one of the best muscle foods. The milk contains two high quality proteins, about 80 percent whey and 20 percent casein. Whey is quickly broken down into amino acids and absorbed into the bloodstream. Whey is very good to consume after workout. Casein is digested more slowly and provides the body with a steady supply of protein for a longer period of time. Cheese is concentrated milk, so it is high in protein and calcium, fat and cholesterol. Include healthy skim yogurt in your diet, which can give you as much as 120 calories.----------- 2. Eat custard apple (saripa, sitaphal) to put on some weight. This fruit is high in calorie.------------- 3. Healthy fats: avoid fatty foods. Most mothers, especially in india give too much ghee or butter to their children, thinking they will put flesh fast. But ghee is mostly saturated fat which is not a healthy fat for any body. Healthy fats are monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats and omega-3 fatty acids. Good fats: cold pressed oils (olive, sunflower, linseed, canola).---------- 4. Drink pure fruit juice. It is full of sugar and added nutrients so it is a healthy and nutritious way to gain some pounds.----------- 5. Complex carbohydrates are also needed for gaining weight. Corn bread is also full of carbohydrates, one piece gives approximately 328 calories. Potatoes are rich sources of carbohydrates and complex sugars, eat baked or as grilled potatoes. Pasta is a calorie rich cereal carbohydrates.----------- 6. Eat bananas. These are rich in carbs and nutritious, one banana contains approximately 100 calories.---------- 7. Some people think that drinking beer helps, but it is not true, it accumulates in your abdomen, making it fatty.---------- don't take protein supplements for gaining muscles. Homoeopathic medicine-------------------------- alfamalt (sbl) drink 2 spoon 3 times daily for 2 months.

1. Raisins: Eatingraisins every day can increase your weight substantially. They are densely packed with nutrients, which mean that even small servings of raisins provide a high amount of calories. A quarter cup of raisins contains as much as 100 calories. 2.Mangoes-Mangoes are also very good at helping you gain weight. The amount of carbohydrates found in mangoes is very high. This fruit can be eaten at breakfast or can be added to lunch or dinner, depending on availability. This fruit should be eaten along with regular food. 3.Bananas are one of the fruits that are ideal for gaining weight. It is full of carbohydrates and contains high levels of potassium, which also helps in maintaining the fluid balance in the body. Generally, athletes eat bananas before their games to gain instant boosts of energy. Eating bananas after meals can help you to gain weight. However, avoid bananas when you have a cold. 4.Increase Food Intake: Increasing the amount of food you eat is the most basic way for you to gain weight. It can either be an increase in the number of meals you eat each day or the quantity of food eaten in each meal. Gaining weight can be just as hard as losing it. It is a time-consuming process that requires devotion. Remember – Rome wasn’t built in a day. 5.Frequent Meals: Eating often, such as six times a day, can help you gain weight. However, each meal should be a small meal. A study conducted by Huffman on older people showed that eating a full meal without having the appetite for it can cause a dislike towards food. Instead, eating small meals at regular intervals improves appetite and thereby increases weight gain. 6.Fat-Rich Diet: Intake of animal fat content should not exceed recommended levels because of the increased risk of cholesterol in blood. Instead, one can opt for unsaturated plant fats that are healthy and very helpful for weight gain. 7.Have Pleasant Meals: Meal time should be a pleasant time rather than a hurried affair. You should thoroughly enjoy every meal. Listening to soothing music while dining can be very helpful. Furthermore, research conducted by Professors Brian Wansink and Koert van Ittersum at Cornell University suggest that by eating in larger cups and bowls, one may increase the consumption of food compared to when eating in smaller cups and bowls. 8.Weight Loss After Illness: Some people lose weight during illness because of lack of appetite and other conditions. Therefore, their focus may be on gaining the weight back. During this time, one can add fruits, milk, yoghurt smoothies, and eggs to their diet to increase their weight. 9.Jackfruit: Ripe jackfruit is another tropical fruit that makes weight gain not only possible, but easy! Arils of jackfruit contain sweet flesh that can be added to your breakfast, lunch, or dinner to help you gain weight. There are certain DON’T’S to gaining weight as well. Avoid Fluids Before Lunch: Drinking any fluids like water, soda, tea, or coffee before meals makes you feel full and lessens your appetite. Avoid drinking fluids for at least half an hour to forty-five minutes before your meals. Deep Fried Foods: Avoid deep fried foods because they not only add fat but also increase the bad cholesterol levels in one’s blood. This can increase the risk of contracting heart disease in the future. Quit Smoking: Smoking and the weight of a person have an inverse relationship with each other. Smokers will experience weight loss during the time they smoke and weight gain when they quit smoking. This is because tobacco is known to suppress a person’s appetite. Those who stop smoking can improve their appetite and thereby gain weight.

If i do exercise everyday then it will be good for my health or not? please advice.

PGDD, RD, Bachelor of Home Science
Dietitian/Nutritionist, Mumbai
Thanks for the query. You can do any exercise in order to stay fit. It is important that you enjoy it and are able to manage it at least 3-5 times a week depending on how strenuous your work out is. You can do yoga, strength training, aerobics, swimming,  jogging or even indulge in sports like football or an enjoyable activity like dance. The idea is to stay physically active. Lastly the technique of any exercise be it the seemingly simple brisk walking  is also important. And don't forget stretching and warm up before any exercise in order to avoid injuries.
