I suggest you follow the below for your condition: take mag phos 6x - thrice daily for next 2 weeks and update. Also do x-ray of the affected area. Heat and ice packs. Heat and/or cold therapy helps relieve most types of low back pain by reducing inflammation. Often patients use ice, but some prefer heat. Both may be used alternately. Do morning walk daily for 30-45 min.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. Your knee pain could be due to certain reasons but common ones are chondromalacia, pain due to knee instability, inflammation etc. If there is no history of any injury, and no s/s of inflammation or infection like swelling, skin redness or local warmth on touching, then I will like to advise you for conservative management initially in form of: - intensive physical therapy with focus on strengthening of quadriceps and stretching of other group of muscles - gentle anti inflammatory medications like tab etoshine or tab paracetamol for 5-7 days usually helps in such cases - adequate calcium and vitamin d supplementation as per requirement - ice packs at home for 3-4 times in a day and see how it goes for around 2 weeks time. If your condition does not improve, then we will have to get certain investigations done. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail

Hello, I am 28 years old. For the past couple of years I am having low back pain which extends towards my right leg. With little bit of stretching and exercises it becomes bearable for sometime but comes back when I lift some heavy things or stand for long time or walk for a long distance. Dear , How old are you? Does your shoulder pain only with over head movements? You appear to have supraspinatus tendinitis, which is mild stretching of one of the ligaments in your shoulder. Rest your shoulder for 2 weeks, avoid over head lifting and use a pain killer. The pain will improve, though it may take some time to improve.

Thank you for the query. Heel pain may arise due to a number of causes. One of the commonest being a calcaneal spur (a small bony projection from the heel bone, calcaneum). An x-ray ankle joint (lateral view) proves the diagnosis. You need to wear soft soled shoes and pain-killers like paracetamol may be used. Ice pack local application may be done. As per the details provided, your bmi is borderline (25.78 kg/m2), hence weight reduction may be useful. Increased uric acid may be a cause, but this is unlikely to affect both heels together. Nevertheless, you can get a serum uric acid done. Calcium and vitamin d supplements may help. Degenerative bone disease may be another cause. Please get in touch with an orthopaedic surgeon for further advice. Regards.

Hi cramps happen due to deficiency of water intake, vitamin D3 and vitamin B12. So, make sure this is properly maintained. Currently, just take hot packs twice daily and do some stretching exercise for your back muscles.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You have mentioned backache as your problem. If you have only localized backache with no other associated symptoms like radiating leg pain, numbness, paresthesias etc, and no systemic symptoms like fever, loss of appetite, loss of weight etc, my advice to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - to maintain proper posture while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or even tab paracetamol which suits you - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied 3-4 times in a day - analgesic spray for local application like dynapar qps spray can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc if you do not improve in 2-3 weeks with this conservative management, we will need to evaluate you further in form of dynamic x rays to look for any instability as a cause for pain and some blood investigations to rule out any deficiencies etc. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Hope you have been under care of physiotherapist as any player. If so and not better then you have to investigated under care of an orthopedic. Do not ply like this otherwise further damage to shoulder can happen.
