Hi, Chewing is directly connected with the movement of food through your digestive tract, and, in particular, with the movement of food from your stomach to your small intestine. At the lower end of your stomach, there is a muscle called the pylorus. This muscle must relax in order for food to leave your stomach and pass into your small intestine. Sufficient saliva from optimal chewing helps relax the pylorus, and, in this way, helps your food move through your digestive tract in healthy fashion. Yet, the contribution of chewing to good digestion does not even stop there. The process of chewing also activates signaling messages to the rest of the gastrointestinal system that trigger it to begin the entire digestive process. This is because when chewing is a well-paced, thorough process, it can actually be said to belong to the" cephalic stage of digestion, the phase in which you first see, smell, and taste your food. The length of time spent chewing the food is related to the length of the cephalic stage of digestion since with more extensive chewing, the longer the food gets to be seen, tasted, and smelled. Cephalic phase responses have been extensively analyzed in the research literature. The release of small messaging molecules that are critical for digestion—such as cholecystokinin, somatostatin, and neurotensin—have been found to increase by over 50% just by the mere sight and smell of food. Additionally, research has shown how chewing, as well as the activation of taste receptors in the mouth, can prompt the nervous system to relay information to the gastrointestinal system to optimize the process of digestion. Sipping on water in the middle of a meal causes a spike in your insulin levels just as glycaemic foods would as when your body is unable to digest food properly, it usually tends to convert the glucose filled part of that food into fat and stores it, reason why your blood sugar levels see an upsurge.

Hi. Sorry, light hair color means - brownish colour of the hair? Right! It's normal to loose up to 100 hair per day, and in most people, those hairs grow back. But many men -- and some women -- lose hair as they grow older. You can also lose your hair if you have certain diseases, such as thyroid problems, diabetes, or lupus. If you take certain medicines or have chemotherapy for cancer, you may also lose your hair. Other causes are stress, a low protein diet, a family history, use of bore water, or nutritional deficiencies. Need to rule out any causative factor or underlying medical condition. Management: Take diet rich in protein like non-veg., eggs (it's loaded with essential nutrients such as proteins, Vitamin B12, iron, zinc and Omega 6 fatty acids in large amounts and biotin) , different pulses & legumes, sprouts, nuts (sp. walnuts and almonds); iron-rich food like green vegetables, dates, carrots, prunes, green peas; also oats, shrimp, take flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, green tea, soyabean, fruits, salads, etc. Take low-fat dairy products (they also contain whey and casein, two high-quality protein sources) Take proper 6-9hrs of sound sleep. Give up the habit of smoking and excessive alcohol intake. Avoid junk food and any kind of beverages (tea, coffee, aerated drinks, cold drinks, etc.) Avoid canned/ tinned food or food that contains preservatives (eat fresh ones). Avoid use of hard water to wash the head rather use boiled water for head wash. Avoid use of harsh hair colour, hair treatment like rebonding, straightening, perming, etc. Avoid vigorous exercises or any supplements provided by the gym! Cover your head with scarf or cap while stepping outside. Use Rose wood/ any wooden hair comb to brush your hair. Regular exercising is also one of the important point, but should be done under some good, qualified yoga teacher or instructor for proper guidance; it also releases the stress/ tension in the mind and the body and keeps you FIT and YOUNG!! Medication: Take homoeopathic Rx - Schwabe's Wiesbaden 200 & Alfalfa Tonic twice a day for 1 month and revert. Also, use Schwabe's Arnica shampoo and Hair Growth oil regularly as per the condition of your scalp (minimum 3 times a week). After shampooing, use Bakson's Arnica Hair conditioner as well after every head wash. Apart from this, take Follihair tablets (multivitamin) - 1 tab. daily once for 1 month.

Hi, acne is the most common teenage problem. Acne is a result of a blockage in the follicles or the pores on the skin. It includes whiteheads, pimples, blackheads and rashes, and occurs usually on the face, chest. 42 inches waist size is on higher side. But you can not lose weight from belly alone. You have to focus on overall weight reduction to reduce belly as well. For a start please follow: 1.Cut down the excess carbs. If you want to lose weight you should start by avoiding sugar and starch (like bread). A low carb diet reduces your hunger and makes it easier to eat less. And it might even increase your fat burning at rest. 2.Don’t skip meals. Skipping meals will not make you lose weight faster. That strategy backfires because your body thinks food is in short supply, so it slows your metabolism in order to conserve energy. Over time, the result is that when you do eat — even if you consume the same foods as always — your body will be slower to use the calories as fuel, thus creating a backlog of unwanted pounds. 3.Stay hydrated. You've heard it before, and you'll hear it again. That's because drinking 64 ounces of water daily is one of the easiest ways to speed up weight loss. Your body needs water in order to efficiently metabolize stored fat. When you shortchange your supply, you're likely to slow down that process, meaning it's more difficult for you to burn calories. An easy eight glasses a day (at least!) will keep your system running smoothly. 4.Start exercising. Strength training builds lean muscle tissue, which burns more calories — at work or at rest — 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The more lean muscle you have, the faster you'll slim down. How do you start strength training? Try some push-ups or a few squats or lunges. Use your free weights to perform simple biceps curls or triceps pulls right in your home or office. Do these exercises three to four times per week, and you'll soon see a rapid improvement in your physique. 5.Go for an evening walk. An evening activity may be particularly beneficial because many people's metabolism slows down toward the end of the day. Thirty minutes of aerobic activity before dinner increases your metabolic rate and may keep it elevated for another two or three hours, even after you've stopped moving. What that means for you: Those dinner calories have less of a chance to take up permanent residence on your hips. 6.Take adequate rest. You should also make an effort to get enough good sleep, preferably every night. Strive to wake up refreshed of your own accord, independently of the alarm clock. If you’re the kind of person who always gets brutally woken up by the alarm ringing, you might never be giving your body adequate rest. 7.Supplement vitamins and minerals. Nutrient-dense, good food is certainly the foundation of weight loss. But an adequate amount of vitamin D can be difficult to ingest via food. In the case of a lack of sun (such as during the darker months of autumn and winter), it’s wise to supplement for multiple health reasons – and perhaps even for your weight.

Hi lybrate-user. Thanku for writing into lybrate. Women may be especially prone to utis because they have shorter urethras, which allow bacteria quick access to the bladder. Symptoms:- 1. A burning feeling when you urinate 2. A frequent or intense urge to urinate, even though little comes out when you do 3. Pain or pressure in your back or lower abdomen 4. Cloudy, dark, bloody, or strange-smelling urine 5. Feeling tired or shaky 6. Fever or chills (a sign the infection may have reached your kidneys) medications:- 1. Neeri syrup-10 ml with warm water. 2. Tab gokshuradi guggulu-2 tab daily thrice. 3. Tab c. P. Vati-2 tab daily twice. Tips:- 1. Empty your bladder frequently as soon as you feel the need to go; don't rush, and be sure you've emptied your bladder completely. 2. Wipe from front to back. 3. Drink lots of water. 4. Choose showers over baths. 5. Stay away from feminine hygiene sprays, scented douches, and scented bath products -- they'll only increase irritation. 6. Cleanse your genital area before sex. 7. Urinate after sex to flush away any bacteria that may have entered your urethra. 8. If you use a diaphragm, unlubricated condoms, or spermicidal jelly for birth control, consider switching to another method. Diaphragms can increase bacteria growth, while unlubricated condoms and spermicides can cause irritation. All can make uti symptoms more likely. 9. Keep your genital area dry by wearing cotton underwear and loose-fitting clothes. Avoid tight jeans and nylon underwear -- they can trap moisture, creating the perfect environment for bacteria growth.

1. Limit intake of food rich in saturated fat/Trans fat/dietary cholesterol. Avoid saturated fat like red meat, diary product, cakes/cookies, egg yolk, butter, ghee, coconut oil. Use olive oil. 2. Take food rich in omega 3 fatty acid like fish (Salmon/mackerel/Trout/sardins). 3. Take handful of dry fruits like walnut/ almond 4.increase soluble fibers in diet by eating oat/oat bran/barley 5. Take green leafy vegetables/legumes (lentil/bean/peas) fruits. 5. Go for regular exercise like brisk walking/swiming/cycling/ going to gym 6. Quit smoking/alcohol/excess tea/coffee 7. Reduce weight 8. Take medicine after consulting physician.

Creat upto 1.4 is considered normal. But you need to be careful about the protein intake as excess might increase the creat inine level. Focus on quality proteins from milk or egg white and measure the salt added to the food. This is very important because there are hidden sources of sodium in our daily foods. Keep a watch on fluid intake as ef is low. Give him small frequent nutrient dense foods throughout the day.

Dear lybrate user, loss of libido is one of the side effects of the medication for high blood pressure. Now you surely need to take sexual medicines. You can try a home therapy to boost your sexual performance. Soak 4-5 dry dates (khurma khajur) in a cup of lukewarm milk before going to bed daily. On waking up next morning eat those soaked dry dates & discard the milk. Repeat the process daily. This therapy often gives effective result within 15 days there are many conventional allopathic sexual pills in market such as adegra, viagra, penegra etc. Refrain yourself from using such pills as those pills contain a steroid called sildenafil. This steroid has a unique temporary effect on erectile problems. Patients using these pills for first time often report that their penis remain strong even after ejaculation. Such effects leads the patients to use sildenafil for prolonged course of time as they often feel that a full erection is possible only after taking sildenafil. Moreover it is very low cost & easy availability of this steroid has made it quite common as sexual medicine. But the bitter truth is prolonged use of sildenafil will permanently disable the normal physiological process behind erection & will render your body to become solely dependent upon sildenafil for erection. As a result you won't feel any slightest normal erection without taking sildenafil. This is an irreversible condition & it cannot be treated by any means. Once you attain this condition you become a life-time customer of that steroid sildenafil because you have to take sildenafil in order to satisfy your partner. As prevention is always better than cure I would advise you to check the composition of any sexual pills before buying. Discard any sexual pills which contains sildenafil in its composition. There are other compositions like tadalafil, citadel etc which gives unique result than sildenafil.

Hello. On the face of it, all these behavioral changes are significant & concerning. Hi lybrate-user, first of all where is your unwanted hair? extensive research and the best experienced doctor vil tell you that unwanted hair cannot b controlled or eliminated with home remedies. It is not a useful or helpful measure but if you r still keen on it, you can make a mixture of lemon, sugar, honey, dip a thin cloth in it and apply and remove it from the hairy area. You vil see a slight change which won't b remarkable. You can send the pictures of concerned area for exact treatment.

Follow these best tips to lightens and remove the dark spots & to get clear skin: 1. Take fuller, s earth (multani mitti) and sandalwood powder (chandan powder) mixed in same quantity mixed in water and apply on the mark in night and wash it after 1 hour. It will slowly removes the spots. 2. Take a piece of aloe vera. Apply gel of leaves on face daily. Wash it after 10 to 15 minutes. 3. Crush one tomato and apply the paste on mark. It will remove the spots definitly. 4. Soak cotton gauze in rose water and clean the dark spots 2-3 times daily. 5. Take carotene rich vegetable suchas carrots, beetroot and fruits- bnana, melon, pineapple, strawberry regularly. 6. Avoid use of any cosmetic products. 7. Avoid continous long hours exposure of sunlight.

A lipoma is a growth of fatty tissue that slowly develops under your skin. Lipoma is a harmless can form on any part of the body. They can be removed surgically or can be stopped spreading by homeopathy treatment. Better to consult homeopathy physician. There are good medicine like cal flour etc. In homeopathy to stop the growth of lipoma.

Hi, since you have pcos, I suggest you need to treat this disorder first so that your hormonal imbalance is corrected, only then you will be able to lose weight. Regarding exercises, pls buy a book called" from fat to fit" by Dr. Dhiren gala and follow the exercises mentioned there. Dandruff: dandruff is a common chronic scalp condition marked by flaking of the skin on your scalp. Measures to combat dandruff: 1) use an antidandruff shampoo like selsun, every sunday for 4 weekends. 2) eat vitamin b and zinc supplement. 3) manage stress. 4) do not oil your scalp, but maintain cleanliness of scalp by shampooing twice a week and rinse hair properly after shampoo. Revert back if further help needed.

Follow following diet chart plan for weight loss Early morning (as soon as you wake up) – Detox your body with stomach cleanser like lemon water with honey, amla juice, aloe Vera juice etc. E.g. Have glass of lukewarm water along + half cup of aloe Vera juice. Breakfast (within half an hour of waking up) – source of high fiber cereal like, oats, wheat flour, bajra, wheat flakes with high protein source like milk and milk product along with one fruit.
