Most leg pain results from wear and tear, overuse, or injuries in joints or bones or in muscles, ligaments, tendons or other soft tissues. To relieve mild pain: stay off your leg as much as possible apply an ice pack or bag of frozen peas to the affected area for 15 to 20 minutes three times a day elevate your leg whenever you sit or lie down please go to a physiotherapist if: you have pain during or after walking you have swelling in both legs your pain gets worse your symptoms don't improve after a few days of home treatment best wishes.

The most common form of morning stiffness and pain is due to muscle imbalances and poor conditioning of the muscles themselves. Here are some tips for how to handle your back pain: -while sleeping, try lying in a curled-up, fetal position with a pillow between your legs. If you usually sleep on your back, place a pillow or rolled towel under your knees to relieve pressure. -find a mattress with back support. A good mattress should provide support for the natural curves and alignment of the spine. Medium-firm mattresses usually provide more back pain relief than firm mattresses. -do not perform activities that involve heavy lifting or twisting of your back -avoid bending forward and sitting in a place for long time -stretching and strengthening exercises are important. -a physiotherapist can tell you when to begin stretching and strengthening exercises and learn how to safely, easily, stretch and strengthen the weak and tight areas of your lower back and hips which cause pain while sleeping. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

Psoriasis, a complex immune–mediated disease

Psoriasis is a complex immune–mediated disease and is a common disorder that affects men and women equally. The disease can manifest at any age; however, the peak times for disease onset are young adulthood (ages 20 to 30 years) and late middle age (ages 50 to 69 years).

There are several clinical subtypes of psoriasis. The most common presentation of psoriasis is plaque psoriasis, which presents as sharply defined erythematous plaques with overlying silvery scales. The most commonly affected areas include scalp, extensor surface of elbows, knees and back.

Psoriasis may also affect the joints. Psoriatic arthritis occurs in about 30 percent of patients with psoriasis, and precedes the skin manifestations in about 15 percent of patients.

In most patients, a diagnosis of psoriasis can be made by history and physical examination. But, sometimes, a skin biopsy is needed to rule out other conditions.

Numerous topical and systemic therapies are available for the treatment of psoriasis. The treatment approach for the individual patient depends on the severity of the disease, relevant comorbidities, patient preference (including cost and convenience), efficacy and evaluation of individual patient response.

Hi, the cause of your pain may be due to stress injury or sudden trauma to your shoulder joint. Usually the rotator cuff gets injured so lifting arm or movements at the shoulder joint is painful. The treatment is rest, physiotherapy and medicines. There is no instant relief. Pain decreases day by day.

Requires detailed investigation and examination Presently investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d xray of the affected part. Anyway you may try sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head do hot fomentation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Dear lybrate user how start your pain. With spray use hot pack 15 minutes twice a day, stretching exercise of back muscles, strengthening exercise of back muscles, avoid forward bending, heavy weight lifting, prolong standing, sitting. Sit maximum 45 minutes continue. Sit it with proper back support.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a self limiting disease. Acute phase can be managed with medicines. Physiotherapy helps in preventing contractures & deformities. Keep your moral up! any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days you will need other supportive medicines also. Do knee exercises it may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. Hi you must have a Blood test for ESR, CRP,CBC and liver function test. If your clinical symptoms are controlled and ESR is normal, your doctor may taper dosing and watch with periodical testing if Disease process accentuates or not, if not it can be safely tapered further or ad the need be, switching to simpler meds. I personally, prefer giving only short course of cortisone and anti inflammatory meds for ankylosing spondylitis instead of saaz, that too under acute episodes only. I suggest physical therapy, exercises as mainstay of management with backing by meds in acute flares only best wishes.

Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.
