I am 27 year old unmarried female. Since almost 3 years I have a small lump in the anus. After reading about this condition on internet, symptoms sounds like it's a hemorrhoid. It's not painful, no itching ,no discomfort- just a mass growing outward . Its the size of a pea or a bit larger than that. I don't have any constipation issues and I always try to follow a healthy diet with less spices and less sugar. Do I need to make a visit to doctor or any ailment are fine. Please suggest at the earliest. Thanks.

Dear Doctor, I have undergone Renal Transplant on 3rd. December (ABO Barrier). Could you advice me the diet instructions?

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
The first few days after transplant depending on how well your new kidney is working you may need to continue to restrict certain foods for a short time. Your dietitian, or medical team, will let you know if this is necessary. It is important that you try to eat well during this period to help your wound heal. If you are finding it difficult to finish your meals inform the ward staff or the dietitian. What to do when you go home once your kidney is working well you will no longer need to be on a special diet but it is important that you still watch what you eat and have a healthy balanced diet. This is particularly important as your transplant medications can increase your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels. These medications can also weaken your bones so you need to have a good intake of calcium and vitamin d. Continue a low salt diet almost all of us eat too much salt. About 80% of the salt we eat comes from processed foods, fast food, and can noteen and restaurant food. About 10- 15% is added at home and only 5% occurs naturally in food. To reduce your salt intake, you need to use less salt in cooking and at the table, eat more fresh foods and less processed and ready-made foods. Avoid using salt substitutes, for example: lo-salt and so low. Limit fat. Eat more fruit & vegtables fruit and vegetables are the perfect snack food. They are high in fibre, vitamins and minerals and low in fat. Aim to eat 4-5 potions of fruit and vegetables each day. Fresh, frozen, dried or tinned all count! include a wide variety of fruit and vegetables. A small glass of fruit juice (unsweetened) can count as 1 portion each day. Choose fruit tinned in natural juice instead of syrup. Dried fruit contains a lot of sugar and should be consumed in small quantities. Avoid adding salt, butter, oils or rich sauces to vegetables. Grapefruit and grapefruit juice is best avoided if you are taking: cyclosporin (neoral/sandimmum), prograf (tacrolimus) or cholesterol lowering drugs.

Hello sir, Please tell me how is urinary tract infection form in body. Is it because of body heat or something else.
Urinary tract infection is mainly due to supression of natural desire of urination or when the immunity of body is very low so that the infection occurs easily. According to ayurveda, when the pitta (or called heat) in the body is increased in a manner that causes the burning sensation in urination.

Dear lybrate-user, benign hypertrophy of prostate is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland. In this clinical condition multiple nodules are formed inside the prostrate gland. These nodules often compress the urethra resulting in the narrowing of the lumen of urethra & producing a resistance to the urine flow. Resistance to urine flow requires the bladder to work harder during voiding, possibly leading to progressive enlargement, instability, or weakness of the urinary bladder the patient must follow the given medication as directed:- 1) 5 drops of homoeopathic causticum 30 at early morning daily before brushing teeth 2) 5 drops of homoeopathic conium mac 30 before going to bath daily. 3) 5 drops of homoeopathic baryta carb 30 just one hour before dinner daily. 4) homoeopathic mother tincture sabal serrulata q, 30 drops, twice daily, after meals, in a cup of water. Along with the aforesaid medication few changes in the lifestyle of the patient are also necessary. Lifestyle alterations to address the symptoms include decreasing fluid intake before bedtime, moderating the consumption of alcohol and caffeine-containing products, and following a timed voiding schedule. Also it would be better if the patient could void the urine in sitting position.

Hello. Residual urine is urine left in the bladder after a person has urinated. Voiding the whole contents of the bladder is generally a good idea, when you can. When people are unable to fully clear their bladders, and leave residual urine, they also may feel the need to urinate more often. Any new urine entering the bladder combines with the urine that's already there to fill the bladder quickly. This can lead to poor nights of sleep, lots of bathroom breaks, and also the uncomfortable feeling that the bladder is never fully empty. The difficulty in not voiding the bladder entirely is that urine remaining in the bladder can become a good culture for bacterial growth. People who frequently leave residual urine in the bladder may be at much greater risk for urinary tract infections (UTI). UTIs can create more residual urine, because voiding the bladder may be difficult, painful, or the urine stream can become partially obstructed. Management: It’s advisable that you wait a few moments before leaving the bathroom, and try urinating again if you've had problems in the past with residual urine. Often, waiting just a minute or two before trying again can help clear residual urine. also get your blood sugar tested

Kidney Stones - 4 Ayurvedic Ways You Can Treat it

Kidney Stones - 4 Ayurvedic Ways You Can Treat it

Kidney stones are formed in the body when mineral deposits in the kidneys tend to crystallize into stones. They may occur in any part of the urinary tract such as bladder, ureters and the urethra. This is a very painful condition, but not a life threatening one. However, in case the pain may become severe; then you may require surgery to treat this condition.

The symptoms of kidney stones are:

  1. Passing urine may cause pain
  2. You may have severe pain below the ribs
  3. Passing of urine which may be colored
  4. Vomiting and nausea
  5. You may feel the need to urinate frequently
  6. You may suffer from frequent chills and fever
  7. The urine may be smelly and cloudy in its appearance and color

Ayurveda is a holistic method of treatment as it focusses on rooting out the cause of the disease while improving your overall wellbeing. The various “doshas” in the body need to be balanced in order to treat the disorder. The ayurvedic remedies for kidney stones are:

  1. Diet: The first and the foremost remedy for kidney stones is rectifying your diet. You should eat nutritious and balanced meals to keep your body in optimal shape. Make sure you include lots of fruits and vegetables in your diet.
  2. Exercise on a regular basis: It is advisable to exercise on a regular basis as it keeps your body healthy. Do cardio exercises to improve your blood circulation. You may include strength training in your workout to increase muscle mass, which will lead to fat loss.
  3. Herbs: Consuming a mixture of honey and tulsi is a preventive measure for kidney stones. Drinking strained water after boiling radish seeds is another great remedy that is used to treat kidney stones.
  4. Avoid junk food: Restrict consumption of junk foods as it can create an imbalance of the doshas in the body which may lead to various diseases. Replace junk foods with healthier choices such as nuts and seeds which provide essential nutrients to the body. Maintain a healthy meal routine at proper timings. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.
