Just monitor your ldl level every 3 months and if it continues to be more than 130 mg you may start drugs after consulting a doctor. The medication needs to be taken lifelong to provide protection from cardiovascular disease.

Sometimes I have pain in my left chest. And I smoke almost 8 cigarettes per day. Is there any serious problem?
Dear lybrateuser, -at your age you should avoid smoking as it is injurious & harmful to health -the pain in your chest could be the first sign of some problem in your heart or lungs -reduce gradually & then stop it completely, have a chewing gum or a mint if you have an urge -do regular exercise, walking, jogging, cycling, also do deep breathing exercise for 10-15 min daily -stopping smoking can reverse the harmful changes in your body -check bp, do ecg & x-ray chest & consult doctor.

Her ulcers and diarrhoea could have been due to Ecosprin, but if after stopping ecosprin they are still persisting then it is possible she may be having some gastric issue like gastric ulcer, so please consult a gastroenterologist for the same, she may also need endoscopy. You should get an echo, hemoglobin and thyroid function test done as well, if her TMT is fine there is no need for ecosprin. Her weakness could be due to the current BP medication which may be leading to low heart rate and excessive lowering of BP so you can discuss about a medicine change with your doctor.
