Hi lybrate-user Try using mouth wash after every meal .use a tongue cleaner everyday. Keep a cardamom in your mouth after using mouth wash. If you can not use mouthwash rinse your mouth with water and salt. Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid garlic ,onion in breakfast and lunch.

My daughter 8 year old has bad breath 24/7. Brushes teeth 2 times a day regularly. What is the problem?

My daughter 8 year old has bad breath 24/7. Brushes teeth 2 times a day regularly. What is the problem?
Hi. Brushing only is not important but how to brush is also important. Show to a nearest mds specialist soon to learn the proper brushing technique. It varies in children and adults. One more thing she is in a transition phase with permanent teeth coming and milk teeth going, so may be some gum swelling around new teeth that might be the cause of bad breadth.

- use a soft toothbrush -- and brush properly! brush your teeth for at least two minutes twice a day and after meals. Hard brushing can further damage the soft tissues of your mouth. - floss at least once a day and be sure to floss beyond the gum line to remove more plaque. - control bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a cold compress. - rinse with salt water or hydrogen peroxide to keep the area clean. Avoid mouthwashes that contain alcohol, which can dry out your mouth. - stay away from smoking and other tobacco products, which can aggravate bleeding gums. - eat a balanced diet and limit snacking between meals. Carbohydrates and sugars feed dental plaque. - try an oral irrigation device, commonly known as a" water pick, to clear debris from around the gum line. - you may need deep cleaning along with surgical curettage or gum strengthening procedure. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser.

My teeths are very yellow i' m doing many treatment but no better response show so please tell me solution how i' m whiten my teeth please tell me.

BDS, pg certification in aesthetic dentistry
Dentist, Gurgaon
Dear , first we need to rule out the causes of yellow teeth, if it is due to excessive fluoride in drinking water or chronic smoker or black coffee stains. Bleach do not work completely for yellow-brown stains of fluorosis so, accordingly we can choose the proper cosmetic treatment for your bright smile. Regards Dr. Nilay bhatia

The best way to treat bad breath (halitosis) is to instill patients with good oral hygiene practices. The common methods used include tongue brushing, tongue scraping, and chewing gum. Gentle but effective deep tongue cleaning should be an important daily routine. Other methods to reduce halitosis (bad breath) include -
Gargling right before bedtime with an effective mouthwash
Cleaning the tongue surface twice daily
Eating a healthy breakfast with rough foods helps clean the very back of the tongue
Chewing gum
Flossing is particularly important in removing rotting
Periodic visits to DENTIST
