Sir I experience chronic pain,heaviness and discomfort in my back head while studying for many hours. Please diagnose and prescribe me the right remedy for it ? Thanks.

As you said yourself that you are studying for many hours it is the most possible reason for it. The aggravating factors could be bad posture, bending position for long hours without break is detrimental to spinal health. Please use ergonomics for proper posture and position of your books while reading or writing to relive your pain. Follow neck exercises daily and heat therapy for the pain at trigger points. Bending for long duration should be avoided. Rotation of the head in all directions possible should be done at frequent intervals. Keep yourself hydrated with atleast 3litres of water every day this helps in the long run and relieves tension off your muscles.

I am 34 years, I have pain feel to bottom of my back legs side. I am in job in industrial area, continue put safety shoe please give me some advise.

With shoes avoid long standing and keep equal balance on your both legs and pain is radiates heel to bottom do calf stretching exercise.

Not all patients of backache & pain joints need surgery. Most of them can be managed without operation morning stiffness in back & other joints is quite a common condition. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Any way take bio d3 max 1tab odx10days ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days do back (spine) exercises contact me again if need be. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take.

Hello Mr. Lybrate-user. Brother first of all do back strengthening exercises. Check on google for core back exercises. Avoid forward bending. Weight lifting. Even 5 kg too.

I have a back problem for last 2 month I also go to doctor but no improvement so what to do.

Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck back knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Dear user, due to deficiency of vitamin d3, your legs and joints are weaken as the pain will increase, you can take pills of calcimac once a day and do muscle strecthing excercises to gain strength.

Sir, I am around 28 yrs old and I have problem that I was able to seat for some few minutes I always got lots of pain in my leg and even unable to walk for some hours around 5-6 hours sometimes. I feel save only while sitting on high chair it feels good to me. Due to the sickness sir I was becoming thinner and thinner these days. Please help me sir. I'll be really grateful with you sir.

Identify the dipping portion on the back of your knee folding. Press this dip with both middle fingers and hold your knee with your thumbs for support. Swing 20 times morning and evenings. Go for a regular walk. Also control your weight properly to bring down the pain give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Report after 5 days.

Hello, first of all you should know what is backache and by which factors it caused and aggravated. The usual cause of low back pain is the sedentary lifestyle that we lead these days. There is hardly any movement. Walking, running and cycling like activities are also not a part of our daily routine. To add to it, our diet consists more and more of junk food. Fresh fruits, vegetables and high fibre foods are consumed less and less. These daily practices lead to obesity. The increased body weight puts lot of pressure on the spine which has to bear all the extra unwanted weight. The back muscles which are already weak due to lack of exercise and wrong posture are unable to cope with this increased load. This causes pain in the back muscles. Management for back pain:-along with medicines for relieving pain, one needs to identify the cause and correct it. This may require some medicines or some correction in your posture or reducing weight or improving your lifestyle. At the same time, there is a need to work on the local muscle strengthening. Back muscles need to be strengthened so that they can bear the weight of the upper body. For this exercises of the back muscles are very helpful. Regular walking is also very helpful as it is a wholesome exercise of the body, improves blood circulation and helps lose weight. Most importantly if you are overweight then losing weight is an important part of the whole treatment plan. Long term use of painkillers for low back pain is harmful treatment for back pain:- homoeopathic medicines are very helpful. They not only treat the acute stages but are also used for the treatment of chronic back pain. Selection of the exact remedy depends upon the individual symptoms of the person. So share the complete symptom picture for the proper treatment. In the mean time take arnica 200, 3 drops in the morning and rhus tox. 200, 3 drops at night for 7 days. Take care.

I'm 34 years old male. I have been having lower backache for two weeks now. It just came suddenly. I used to carry water everyday. I felt tingling in my right leg also below the knee. I have consulted a Dr. Also. He did x-ray and gave some medications. He told x-ray is normal and its just muscle strain. But the pain still there now though not that much painful. Is it really just muscle strain or slipped disc?

Hi Thanks for your query and welcome to Lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from Fortis hospital, New Delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - To maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - If pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - Physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - Adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - Ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - Analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - Avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc We will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation.
