Diet for weight loss: early morning-lukewarm water with lemon 1 glass tea without sugar + 2 biscuits breakfast-2 hard boiled eggs + 2 slice brown bread or 2 scrambled eggs + 1 slice brown bread+ skimmed milk 1 cup (240 gm) mid-morning-1 banana/1/2 cup melon/20 grapes lunch-brown rice 1 cup (195 gm) + chicken/dal (100 gm) + mixed vegetables 1/2 cup + salad 1 bowl evening-butter milk 1 cup dinner-1 roti + fish/ green leafy vegetables (50 gm) + lentils dal 1/2 cup+ raita 1 small bowl dear to decrease your weight you have to do work out daily. Try the remedies below they can help you. 1. Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey, and one-half teaspoon of black pepper powder in one glass of water. 2. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach. 3. Do this daily for at least three months. 4. Drink mint tea or make a paste of green mint with some simple spices and eat during meals. 5. Eat vegetables such as bitter gourd and drumsticks to control obesity. 6. Do bhujang asana, dhanurasana, naukasana, kumbhakasana, pavanamukthasana daily 10 min per asana. 7. Do running early morning daily and join aerobics in evening. 8. Avoid oily and fried foods, processed foods, fatty foods like butter, purified butter, cheese, whole-milk yogurt, cream, chocolate, etc. 9. Replace refined flour with whole-wheat flour and rice with brown rice or parboiled rice.

My father had a CABG on Mar 28, 2016. After keeping him in CTVS followed by HDU for 4 days doctors shifted him to his general ward. Since Mar 31, 2016 he was complaining that he was not able to remember anything. He forgot names of every family member and friends except one or two people who are not extremely close. He even forgot his own name as well. Doctors found yesterday that he got a blood clot in his left tempro -parietal lobe of the brain which had caused a stroke. This was definitely post CABG because before am operation too he had a CT scan where no such clot was evident. Now the doctors have given him the following medicines: Atova 20mg, diplate A-120, cetil 500mg, paracetamol, ditallox 12.5mg, insulin 6 units in morning, 8 units in afternoon and 6 units in the night. My father already had a mild stroke before in August 2012; that time his homocysteine level in sera was found to be 114 for which the doctor gave folic acid tablets as medicine. Rest a Carotid Doppler found minor plaques. Rest all tests were good. Now in this condition I am almost clueless what to do next? Please help.

It is not even 1 month when your father had a cabg. He has a history of a mild stroke in past and causes of stroke and heart attack are same, so is the prevention after a warning in the form of anginal pain or a mini stroke, he is a diabetic too, controlled on insulin. Sometimes medicines belonging to opiate group are given post operatively for bone pain, this does affect the memory and it is a temporary change, doctors shift to other pain killers like it has been the case - he is being given paracetamol, statins to bring down bad cholesterol that causes plaque. Carotid doppler has shown minor plaques which is expected because he had blockages which caused heart attack and stroke. May be your doctors will give medicines to dissolve clots in the brain. Continue the treatment as suggested by your doctors, remember it takes minimum 2 months for innermost tissues to recover, outwardly the stitches may look clear and normal, you need to have patience and help him recover. Good luck.

Hi We do job to earn money and live happily. But too much time in job can ruin our health. Please take out time every day 30 minutes to devote to yourself and to your body. Your weight is already excess, but you can get it down bit by bit. Eat more fruits, and veggies. Have more water. Reduce fried food etc. All the best

U hv not mentioned your proper symptoms. If physical weakness you should tk proper diet nutrition rich food. Do excersise. And tk regular medicine to avoid such problems. Tk food rich vitamins, proteins and fibrous fruit and that your body cn digest easily.

Please kindly fix an appointment with a dentist and do the needful. If teeth has been removed, its advisable to go for a denture. There are options available. For eg you can also go for a removable type denture or also a fixed type.

First start with a eight day session of vasthi karma at a panchakarma centre near you. Vasthi will detoxify the body and remove excessive gas formation. After that start taking ayurveda medicine from a good expert. Take lighter food, no smoking, no drinking, avoid excess salt, spices, fermented foods. Take more milk, ghee etc.

The Right and Wrong Way to Stretch Tight Muscles

Being flexible is not always about doing splits or doing some random bending. It is about achieving a level of mobility that will not hold you back from doing whatever you are able to do. Most people think that stretching or flexing your muscles and body as the first method to defend you from pain. But if stretching and flexing can be done correctly, it can lengthen one's muscles and give one relief from pains and aches. Stretching is also done to increase the functional range of one's joints and muscles. There are various ways by which one can stretch their muscles. However, the question which looms over here is which is the correct procedure and which is the wrong one.

The Wrong Vs the Right Way
Before discussing about the correct way, let us talk about the various wrong ways in which stretching can be done. The first rule is that if stretching is causing you pain or if it is hurting you, then you are probably taking it too far. A muscle needs to relax as much as possible, if it needs to stretch. If one is stretching so hard that he or she cannot relax then the muscle will not lengthen. Stretching should never be painful.
One should also avoid stretching for an insufficient length of time. Only a few seconds of stretching will not hold the therapeutic effects of stretching.

The following methods are few of the correct ways to stretch:
1. Always start with the warm muscles. Warm your muscles by doing some aerobic movement or by applying heat with the help of a warm bath.
2. After warming your muscles, monitor your level of discomfort. Let it go once you feel pain.
3. Hold any stretch for at least 30 seconds.

Stretching the Correct Muscle
There are muscles, which need to be stretched and there are muscles, which should not be. So getting to know the correct muscles to be stretched is as important as knowing the correct procedure to stretch your muscles. Every muscle, which does not hurt should not be stretched. There are different types of muscles that cause pain like stiff, tight, short muscles and long muscles. Muscles that are tight should only be subjected to stretching. Stretching muscles that are too long is not a good idea.

Using Physiotherapists
Most people who cannot determine which muscle should be stretched and which should not be should consult a physiotherapist. Physiotherapists can quickly and easily diagnose muscular issues. They will also show ways to stretch which are most effective for particular needs.

Stretching should be made a part of one's life. It is a way by which one can become their healthiest self and avoid muscular imbalances.

Please get the surgery done. Otherwise it will lead to recurrent infections and kidney problems. Surgery will not be a major thing. Better to prevent long term complications. Good luck.

For a depressed person withdrawal is very harmful. You have to make an effort to socialize with people whether you like them or not. If you have depression then there are some major ramifications to take into account. I believe there may be some genetic predisposition or there has been some childhood issue, related to anger, that needs urgent attention. You must go and meet with a counselor immediately and if that person advises that you meet with a doctor you must do so and cooperate to your utmost. Please visit these professionals along with your parents. In the meantime please do the following sincerely because you could resolve the problem better with good cooperation: Have a good night’s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber, nuts, avocado, exercise regularly, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. I suggest you do the opposite of what this depression makes you feel like doing (actually, not doing): you will need to fight this condition. You must become active; stay upright during the daylight time; meet people; never sleep during the day, wake up by 6 am every day, play some active games, especially contact games, do physical exercises, talk to people and join some social clubs, attend Yoga classes etc. Watch sitcoms on TV or comedies and cheer yourself up. Go for excursions in groups, for outings, camps, conferences, and religious conventions. Get a pet dog and spend time training it, exercising it and relating to it. Expose yourself to some sunlight every day, at least, 30 minutes but not in the scorching heat. Whatever happens, please incorporate these three important adaptations in your life: always be responsible, be respectful, and be functional. If you did these three, lots of things will go well in life. Please pray and have faith in God to alleviate your sufferings. Don’t wait for others to help. Use your own motivation, which might be at its lowest, but persevere and win this battle. Above all to be really happy, you need to live in love and for love. Learn all about emotions and how to handle them and that will get you out of the depression rather easily and quickly. A counselor is there only to facilitate you, all the hard word must come from you, and your cooperation with that person is very critical for your success. Be positive every day and learn to be contented with what you have. Do some left brain exercises: it is the happy brain. Here are a few suggestions: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. Whatever happens please cooperate with the therapy and do not discontinue until the condition is completely resolved.

Hi, I would like to seek help regarding my preset situation. I am 30 years old. My parents were looking for an alliance for me from 4 years. I could not find a suitable alliance for me. I was not doing well in my job also. I am good at work but can not handle office politics but I continued working only to support my family. Couple of months back I got engaged to guy. It so happened when I saw his photo I could not like him, later when I saw him through skype also I did not like. But my parents convinced me every time it is not right rejecting proposals now I have to take a call as I am running out of age. So when the guy came to India we met him, again I could not like him, I was totally confused. Sometimes I could feel it is ok I can go ahead with marriage later I felt noo. The Guy was well educated and financially sound as well. All kind of thoughts I could not control. I wanted to ignore everything and go ahead with marriage but the pain I was suffering did not allow me. I consulted a doctor he said I am suffering from depression and anxiety, I was put on tablets. We had to call off the engagement. Now after couple of months I have become alright. I am not working. Now my parents want me to settle down. The very thought of marriage upsets me. I think of the stage I suffered. Can you please suggest what I can do? I was not a person like this I was an individual capable of taking decision but not I am in this stage. Thanks!

If you are having depression or anxiety it is not your fault at all. Having anticipatory anxiety for marriage is understandable but there are ways of dealing with it. Your previous engagement had lots of uncertainties as you do not know the person well and so your anxiety is justified. If you feel better now then you can definitely go ahead for marriage. If you still feel very anxious and that refrains you from dealing with the decision of marriage then consult your psychiatrist and discuss it in details.

I hope you are sleeping enough at night. If not, then start sleeping on time. At night take Ashwagandha with milk for good sleep. Half an hour before sleeping keep your mobile away from the bed, do not watch tv and relax. Try to read a good book that calms your brain and body. Last but not the least, eat a very healthy diet
