You can go for bleaching if the shade is yellow. Or else if it is the tartar (calculus) deposited on your teeth than you should go for scaling.

Also she is suffering from bad small from mouth. Please advise so that we can improve her oral health. Her teeth are very sensitive to hot and cold teeth. She didn't even did her root canal. Hi lybrate-user The details you have provided seem to indicate somewhat advanced gum disease. Whether the affected teeth can be preserved or not can only be assessed with a clinical assessment supplemented with radiographs. If you have consulted a dentist and extractions have been advised, there is reason to believe that they would have done so after due condsideration. As for improvement of oral health from now on, get a thorough cleaning done. You might be advised further gum treatment based upon the actual situation; get that done as well. Make it a point to see your dentist regularly and get the necessary dental treatment completed. At the same time, discuss home oral hygiene measures with your dentist and follow their advise. As for artificial teeth, several options are available to most patients. Discuss them with your dentist and select the one you find the most feasible and it should be fine. Hope this helps.

First of all undergo scaling (cleaning of teeth) by a dentist - use proper brushing technique. - brush twice a day which is most important (at night specifically just before sleep and avoid any food or liquid except water when you finish your brush at night) - after each meal (i. E breakfast, lunch, dinner and any time when you take snacks) rub your finger on all tooth surfaces inside and outside and than do forcefull gargles 2-3 times. Visit dentist every 4-5 months for the early diagnosis and prevention of dental diseases. Jay swaminarayan.

My teeth are bit yellowish. I want to clean and polish my teeth. Any home remedy would be very helpful.

My teeth are bit yellowish. I want to clean and polish my teeth. Any home remedy would be very helpful.
There are many causes of yellow or discolored teeth. A few of the most common: 1.Drinks: Coffee and red wine cause major damage to teeth.. But other drinks with high acidity, such as soda, juices and even sports drinks can cause staining on the teeth. Even white wine is not far behind in staining our teeth yellow, because its tannins and acidic nature wear away at the tooth enamel. These Acidic drinks lowers the Ph of teeth below 6 thus causing corrosive wear and tear of teeths. 2.Certain Foods: Colored candies, popsicles and other bright foods can cause staining over time. Think of it this way – if your tongue turns a bright shade of blue, chances are your teeth are getting some of that discoloration, too. Even healthy foods such as berries (blueberries, cranberries, raspberries) can stain teeth. Ketchup, curry and other sauces can cause staining problems over time, too. 3,Natural Aging Process: Quite simply, teeth yellow over time. It’s a natural part of the aging process that the white protective coatings wear down over time. So the longer you have your teeth, the more likely they are to become yellow or discolored. 4.Most of us are guilty of at least some of the above (and none of us can stop time). But the good news is that even if red wine is one of your vices and your teeth look yellower lately, there are things you can do to bring back the white. 5.How to make Teeth white (a)Avoid Certain Foods/Drinks When Possible: We’re not asking you to give up your morning coffee, just to reduce the intake of the above foods as much as possible. Sometimes simply being aware can help us make better choices. (b)Drink Water: After you’ve consumed a tooth-staining food or drink try to immediately follow it with a glass of water. Swirling water around your mouth can drastically help clear away the acids or staining. This simple step is free and easy, and can drastically help reduce tooth discoloration. (c)Proper Dental Hygiene: Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental checkups help keep teeth healthy for a lifetime. Develop these habits early and you’re less likely to have dental problems down the line. (d)Teeth Whitening: The good news is that there are many options available to whiten teeth. Some can be done at home while others can take help of Homoeopathic medicines. Homoeopathic medicine HEKLA LAVA TOOTH POWDER ( WHEEZAL) Scrub teeth daily night

How can I naturally whiten my teeth? It's getting yellow and I'm feeling that plague is accumulated on the teeth.
It is adviced to get your teeth professionally cleaned once a year. Ask your dentist to demonstrate proper brushing techniques which will help you in maintaining the natural shade of the teeth. You must avoid /restrict tea, coffee or cola drinks which often lead to teeth staining. You can also use tooth polishing toothpastes which are available at the local chemist.

So that's why I have problem of pulp polyp in my tooth. She said that I will have to pull out that teeth and to fill tha gap I should get braces. Is the reason by this doctor justified?

The pulp polyp is remedied by curetting the new connective tissue mass from the pulp holding cell and also carrying out endodontic therapies on the remaining tooth root structures, assuming the interradicular ground remains undamaged. Extraction can be an accepted remedy alternative. There is absolutely no malignant change and the lesion is not going to automatically regress. Leaving a pulp polyp without treatment can lead to a number of problems. Contamination of the adjoining gingival tissue mass and also abscess could appear. The harmful bacteria might spread to additional healthy teeth leading to other cavities to create, leading to the requirement for more dental treatments. Finally, the teeth might end up being too affected to restore and the impacted teeth might have to be removed.

•Eat a healthy, balanced diet and avoid eating strongly flavoured or spicy food. •Cut down on sugary food and drink, as it can increase the amount of bacteria in your mouth. •Reduce your alcohol consumption. •Stop smoking. •Cut down on coffee. •Drink plenty of water to help prevent your mouth becoming dry. •Chew sugar-free gum after eating, to stimulate the flow of saliva. This will help clean away any remaining food particles. •Don't use toothpaste to clean your dentures, as it can scratch the surface and cause stains. •Clean your dentures thoroughly using soap and lukewarm water, denture cream or a denture-cleaning tablet. •Use a separate toothbrush to clean your dentures. •Make sure you visit your dentist for regular check-ups. Having regular dental check-ups will ensure that any plaque is removed from your teeth, particularly in areas that are difficult to reach. •Your dentist can recommend the best way to clean your teeth and gums, and point out areas you might be missing. They can also identify any signs of gum disease and ensure early treatment. •Gastritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. •If your bad breath is caused by a gastrointestinal problem, such as an H. Pylori infection or gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), you may be referred to a gastroenterologist. •Persistent bad breath or a bad taste in the mouth may be a warning sign of gum (periodontal) disease. Gum disease is caused by the buildup of plaque on teeth. •You may need deep cleaning & fill tooth cavities with artificial enamel filling. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash until then. Advance procedures can be done with laser too.

Hello doctor, My teeth are kind of light yellowish and I want to whiten them. I visited a dentist in Delhi for a normal checkup, he told me not to opt whitening procedures as it may lead to sensitivity. But he didn't explain much about it, just said don't go for it. My question is why whitening procedures leads to teeth sensitivity. Is there any other option available apart from it? Thank you.

Hello doctor, My teeth are kind of light yellowish and I want to whiten them. I visited a dentist in Delhi for a norm...
Tooth whitening lightens teeth and helps to remove stains and discoloration. Whitening can be done in the dental office or at home. For in-office whitening the dentist or a dental hygienist will clean your teeth. This will remove the film of bacteria, food and other substances that build up on your teeth and contribute to the staining. Once this is done, the whitening procedure begins. For whitening at home, your dentist can make trays to hold the whitening gel that fit your teeth precisely. Home whitening gel usually needs to be applied daily for two to three weeks. Over-the-counter kits also are widely available for home use. They provide trays to hold the gel. If you smoke or consume a lot of staining foods or drinks, you may see the whiteness start to fade in as little as one month. If you avoid these sources of staining, you may not need another whitening treatment for 6 to 12 months. Whitening is unlikely to cause serious side effects, although some people's teeth may become more sensitive for a short while. You may get mild gum irritation as well. For that a sensitive tooth aste can be used.
