Hello doctor, I want to know if there is a way to increase my brain power. I do meditate daily. Are there any particular food or supplement which will help me be more focused and remember what I learn, I am suffering from Depression and have recalling problems. It takes more time than my average friends to recall anything. Its like my brain has information but its not accessible. Its all blueness in my brain it feels. Any help is appreciated.

Dear Lybrate user, we all tend to forget to some extent. However, if you feel it is affecting your way of functioning, you can try the following techniques. - Not being able to recall properly can be due to several reasons. Being attentive and listening to what is being said or being aware about what is happening around you is the first step in our ability to remember things so that they can be recalled later. - Use techniques like Mnemonics, Method of loci, etc. To improve your ability to remember things. - When you are already preoccupied with something, or have to many things on your mind your ability to recollect information or even to put it in words properly can get affected. - Relax and give yourself the time to recollect what you are trying to recall. Putting pressure on yourself to recollect quickly in turn can lead to slower rate of recall due to feelings of stress. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Sexual Shyness - 4 Possible Causes

While sex is something that everyone fantasizes or thinks about, when it comes to the actual act of being with a partner, shyness and inhibitions may stop you from actually having a god experience. While some factors for shyness can be physical, in most cases, they border on emotional and psychological problems.


Factors that might cause sexual shyness
Some of the factors that cause sexual shyness could be:
1. A fear arising from lack of experience
2. A low self esteem
3. Bad encounters and experiences in the past
4. Body image issues


These are all factors which can be changed and controlled with a slight change in your thinking and conditioning yourself in certain ways. 

Overcoming sexual shyness with the partner 
While most people have active fantasies about sex, when it comes to a one on one experience, many people feel out of their comfort zone. Let's look at a few mental and thought conditioning exercises that can help you counter sexual shyness.
a. Don't have major expectations - One of the biggest issues with mostly men and to some extent women, is they have elaborate fantasies which don't come true in the real world and thus aren't prepared to handle real life sexual situation when they come up. Thus you should preferably have a no expectation approach.

b. Ensure that the surroundings are comfortable - If you are having a hurried encounter or in a situation you aren't comfortable in, it might lead to bad experiences which will keep manifesting every time you have sexual encounters. Thus make sure that your surroundings are comfortable and you are relaxed before the act.

c. Don't let physical shortcomings scare you - Both men and women tend to be very conscious about their bodies. If you have to be naked in front of someone, you may feel even more self conscious. Stop feeling bad or sorry for yourself because of your body. No human being is perfect and if the other person wants to be with you in bed, they will ignore any physical imperfections that you think you may have.

d. Think about the act and prepare - Remember that you are with a person and not with a fantasy. Once you are comfortable with a person and usually after a few times, you can then try fantasies and role playing. Initially think about the act before in your head and feel excited in its anticipation.

e. Enjoy the build up and the foreplay - Sex isn't just the penetrative part but all the fun section like kissing and foreplay that build up to it. Go slow and enjoy those sections as well and you will automatically be aroused enough to a point where inhibitions will go away. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Sexologist.

Diet and workouts go a long way in helping you gain strength to gain weight, you must eat more calories than you burn. When you gain weight, some will be fat and some will be muscle. To gain muscle, you must eat protein. To boost the ratio of muscle to fat gain, you must exercise. To gain muscle and strength, you must engage in resistance exercise. To improve body fat percentage and gain weight, you must cycle through phases of gaining muscle and losing fat. I can also suggest home remedies.

Include fiber rich foods like cucumber, watermelon and green leafy veggie include salads in every meal possible keep sipping water exercise for an hour and do floor exercise for 20 min.

Weight gain is a slow process it take time. And it need well planned balanced diet along with physical activity and proper rest. You need well plan diet suited to your needs. Mean while here are few tips for you- Start eating small frequent energy dense meals instead of 3 large meal. Small meals are easy to digest and keep digestive system running. You can eat small portion of healthy food in difference of 2-3 hours have shakes of fruits with added nuts drink atleast 8-10 glasses of water. Eat all seasonal fruits and vegetables. Manage stress Quit smoking or drinking if any do some moderate intensity exercises for 30 minutes daily. Have positive body image appreciate your self Take sound sleep of 7-9 hour keep your self motivated as it not going to happen overnight. Consult me online for better results.

Hello. We can't change the gray hair turn black, but of course, prevent further greying! The causes of premature graying of hair are several. Here we have listed out a few common causes. Heredity is a major reason for hair greying Excessive use of tobacco and smoking Chronic emotional stress or psychological worries Lack of nutrients such as vitamins, iron, copper and iodine in the diet Medical conditions such as anemia, hypothyroidism, tuberous sclerosis or neurofibromatosis Home Remedies: 1. Add the curry leaves to the oil and boil it for 6 to 8 minutes, or till the leaves turn black. Remove from flame and let it cool. Strain the oil in a container and massage your scalp and hair with this oil 3 to 4 times per week before going to bed. Wash off with a mild herbal shampoo in the morning. 2. Turn the fenugreek seeds to a smooth powder and keep aside. Heat the oil and add the amla pieces to it, let it boil for 5 to 6 minutes, add the fenugreek powder to the oil, let it boil for another minute and remove from flame. Let it cool and strain the oil, apply on scalp and hair before going to bed. Wash off with a mild herbal shampoo in the morning. 3. Mix onion and lemon juice in a glass bowl and apply on scalp and hair evenly. Leave it on for 30 minutes and wash off with a mild herbal shampoo. Repeat it 4 to 5 times a week for 2 weeks. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine – Schwabe's Acid Phos. 200/ once daily and Weisbaden 200/ twice daily – all of them for 1 month. And a multivitamin - A to Z/ 1 cap. Daily once for 3 months (as deficiency of zinc, copper and selenium can also cause premature greying). Use Schwabe's Arnica Shampoo and Hair Growth Oil. Revert.
