This could either be due to sensitivity of tooth due to loss of enamel or due to decay in teeth. Visit your dentist to check the cause of your prob n get treated accordingly. Meanwhile use a desensitizing toothpaste such as senquelf. Rub some of it onto to the tooth surface n wait for 5 mins before rinsing.

For bleeding gums kindly use chlohex plus mouthwash rinse two times a day for 15 days. The bleeding may subside but if it doesn't.kindly visit dentist. For any tartar /deposit on teeth. And for cavities kindly get the depth of cavity checked to consider. For any type of filling.

Hi my teeth are yellow in colour I tried all tooth paste but all in vain what should I do?
Teeth are yellow due to two factors. Extrinsic and intrinsic. If it is extrinsic then you have to get oral prophylaxis. And if it is intrinsic then you have two options either a teeth whitening (bleaching) or vineers. Thanx.

Hello Lybrate user, I can infer from your comment that you have wound probably a ulcer in your tongue, which causes pain and is present since one year. Any ulceration in our mouth (be it in cheek, lips or tongue) if not spontaneously healed within a month tested by biopsy. For pain you can get any topical anesthetic agent in any medicine shop. I would recommend you to find an oral pathologist (specialist for diagnosing and treating such cases) and give him a visit as soon as possible.

White patches reasons: 1. Decalcification of enamel 2. Hypocalcified enamel (birth defects) 3. Fluoride in water. Treatment is symptomatic 1. Fillings 2. Veneers.

Hello doctor, I have seen my mom tongue have black dots. What problem is this? Please tell me.

Hello doctor, I have seen my mom tongue have black dots. What problem is this? Please tell me.
Black spots on tongue can be an alarming site and can prompt you to wonder what their cause is. but noneed to worry a these spots could be caused by one of many, mostly harmless, causes. Here are some of the causes of black spots on the tongue, 1.Hyper-Pigmentation Hyper-pigmentation occurs when there is too much pigment (which gives our skin, hair and eyes their colour) in a certain area. This can be a genetic trait, or it can develop on its own. This is a harmless condition . 2.Tongue Piercing Sometimes black spots can be left behind on the tongue as a result of a tongue piercing. In the areas where you had the piercing you may have lost pigmentation and this then leaves small black marks. 3.Oral Cancer In rare cases black spots on the tongue may also be a sign of oral cancer. For this reason it is very important to get them checked over by an expert. Do not panic prematurely. Other symptoms of oral cancer are lumps in the mouth and difficulty in swallowing. 4.Smoking/Drinking If you smoke a lot or drink excess amounts of alcohol, then you can develop what's known as a hairy tongue. Of course this isn't hair like that found on the head, but rather fungus that grows on the tongue that appears as black clusters. This will disappear on its own if you stop drinking or smoking and is yet another good incentive to do so. 5.Injury Of course the tongue is a fairly unusual part of the body and is in fact a muscle. As such it tends to react slightly differently to cuts and wounds than would a part of the skin and sometimes areas where you've bitten or hurt your tongue can appear as dark patches. Homoeopathicmedicine LACHESIS 30 ( Dr Reckeweg) Drink2 drop direct on tongue twice daily for 2 months.

Maybe due to attrition of teeth or tooth decay. Try using sensodyne toothpaste for instant relief. Tooth decay will need a filling.

Dear Lybrateuser, - You should at least brush your teeth twice a day in the morning & after dinner before sleep, ideally it is after every meal, brush for about two min, do warm salt water gargles 2-3 times a day for your problem - get plaque removed by a dentist if it doesn't go away with brushing - brush gently with a soft brush.

I am 27 year old female.(Going through root canal for molar in lower left side.) Problem is that have pain in end of mandibular ramus (bone down the ear ). I don't remember when it starts (but pretty sure about it starts before root canal) when I touch there I feel pain. Otherwise no problem. What will be that? Anything serious?

Hi lybrate-user. First of all thank you for your query. I must say that you need not worry at all in this case. The pain in the end of the mandibular ramus is due to infection of the molar. Once rootcanal is finished and infection subsides it will be fine. Still after that pain persists then you may have to go to dentist again with an xray. In the meantime do nice saltwater gargle and try not to eat from that side. Be calm and stay happy. Happy and calm mind is best medicine for any disease. Hope I hav answered your query. Thank you and have a healthy day.
