I have high sugar levels around 275 (random) due to chronic pancreatitis. What should be my ideal diet and also suggest me some fruits. How can I increase my weight.

MBBS, CCEBDM, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Hubli-Dharwad
Mr Abhishek, Diabetes with pancreatitis, needs to be treated with Insulin Injections because there is hardly any insulin production. All the permitted fruits like papaya, orange, sweet lime, water melon, apple, pear, pomegranate and guava etc are good enough. But only about 100 g a day. As regards adding weight you will have to first achieve a strict blood glucose control with fasting closer to 100 mg and PP 150 to 160 mg and HbA1c%<6.8. Then you might look at taking some protein supplement and regular exercise to build muscles. Thanks.

I have 4 months back anal fissure I get anal internal sphincter cut after that I didn't have strength in my anal I can not squeeze it as before. Can I make one more surgery to get back my anal internal sphincter as natural or joint.

General Surgeon, Srinagar
Hey lybrate-user. It's the international sphincter which is cut during sphincterotomy. N the external sphincter is preserved. Internal splinter Dsnt have much role in continence. I suggest wait for few more months. Take plenty of fluids and salads. There are surgeries to get anal tone back but you don't need it unless a bad surgeon has damaged your external sphincter, which is a remote possibility. So sit back and relax. You will be fit and fine in a few months. Just wait. Regards.

How to get relief from sudden acidity attack by home remedies in absence of ENO or any other acidity relief medicines.

How to get relief from sudden acidity attack by home remedies in absence of ENO or any other acidity relief medicines.
Eat small meals. Instead of 3 big meals, have 5 small meals every 3-4 hours. Eat slowly. Don’t sleep on a full stomach. Try to have an early dinner. Make sure there is a gap of 3 hours between your last meal and bed time. Wear loose-fitting clothes. Avoid certain known foods which cause acidity like, coffee, tea, colas, and citrus fruits, oily and spicy food. If your weight is high – losing a few kilos will reduce acidity too. Keep a gap of 2 hours between exercise and meals. Drink at least 3 litres of water every day. Try meditation and yoga to minimise daily stress.
