When she chews food to eat it is becoming gluey in the mouth. She is facing problem in eating from last few months. What to do?

MDS - Orthodontics
Dentist,
Hi chewing food becomes difficult when the amount of saliva in the mouth has reduced. This could be due to medications or due to radiotherapy. She could use artificial saliva which keeps the mouth moist.

Most people can prevent vitamin b12 deficiency by eating enough meat, poultry, seafood, dairy products, and eggs. If you don't eat animal products, or you have a medical condition that limits how well your body absorbs nutrients, experts recommend taking a b12-containing multivitamin and eating breakfast cereal fortified with vitamin b12. If you're using vitamin b12 supplements, let your doctor know, so he or she can make sure they won't affect any medicines you're taking.

Although excessive saliva is not too common, there are a number of conditions that can cause it - some harmless, others more serious. It is possible that your saliva problems are just a result of the way you speak. Some people speak faster or slower than others, just as some people blink more often, breathe faster, or have a more rapid heartbeat. This may just be what's normal for you. Since it is negatively affecting your life, I suggest your problem can be ignored. However there are medical conditions that causes excessive salivation injection glycopyrrolate reduces secretions in the mouth, throat, airway, and stomach.

Do not use your teeth for doing something other than chewing food. Using them for cracking nuts, removing bottle tops or ripping open packaging can result in chipped or broken teeth.

Ask your dentist regarding replacement of missing teeth by implant. It saves the nearby natural tooth.

You need to get your gum conditions checked from a nearby dentist. He/she might advise you for an oral prophylaxis procedure and prescribe you a good mouthwash for bad breath.
