You can protect your baby's skin from the development of a skin disease called eczema and from dryness, by applying a fragrance-free, hypoallergenic moisturizing lotion after bathing her.

Your baby's weight is definitely less for her age. If she was born prematurely or born underweight, she might take a little longer to catch up with other kids of her age. As a mother, your responsibility is to feed her the right foods in right quantities at right intervals. Make khichdi with rice/Dalia and dal, seasonal vegetables and a little ghee. Make idlis with vegs in it. Make cutlets with boiled mashed chana and potato and soya. She must take 3-4 meals in a day. She can have mashed banana with milk. You can make halwa with whole wheat and add a little roasted ground peanuts, ghee and milk to it. Make sure you give her only fresh home cooked meals.

Child Sex Abuse: WHO Stipulates Guidelines On Its Response!

MBBS
General Physician, Fatehabad
Child Sex Abuse: WHO Stipulates Guidelines On Its Response!

On how to respond to children and adolescents who have been sexually abused, the World Health Organization has come up with clinical guidelines on the same. The guidelines mention recommendations for the healthcare providers who may directly receive a victim of sexual abuse or may identify sexual abuse during the course of diagnosis and treatment. These frontline healthcare providers include general practitioners, gynaecologists, paediatricians and nurses.

The short-term as well as long-term mental health impact, as highlighted by WHO, of sexual abuse on children are:

  1. Post-traumatic stress
  2. Anxiety
  3. Depression
  4. Eating disorders
  5. Problems with relationships
  6. Sleep disorder
  7. Suicidal behaviour

The new WHO guidelines focus on recommendations and good practice suggestions in terms of:

  1. Disclosure made by the child
  2. Obtaining medical history
  3. Conducting physical examinations and forensic investigations
  4. Documenting findings
  5. Offering preventive treatment for HIV post-exposure
  6. Pregnancy prevention, and other sexually transmitted diseases
  7. Psychological, mental health interventions among others

My baby is just 1 year 2 month old and she is having a problem of not going motion freely she is doing motion once in...
Do not worry every baby has her own pattern. Some pass motion once a week, just keep feeding her. If she is not passing hard stool do not worry do some leg exercise - move legs of the baby as if peddling a cycle. Massage her belly gently and little firmly specially on left lower side. 2 give stool softener for at least 8 weeks in proper dose 3 .high fiber diet - more fresh fruits (like mango) and vegetables like broccoli, peas, beans, whole grain atta and pulses and plenty of pop corn and curd 5. More fluids- water, milk. No soft drinks or packed juices .a glass of milk with sugar at night before sleeping 6. Regular and fixed toilet time- first thing in the morning. Sit at least for 10 mts 7. Regular meal timings. 7. No spicy/ fried/ processed / junk food/ fatty foods 9 no vitamin supplements for medicine contact on private chat.
