I have joined gym from a month but I not got reduce the weight when I goto gym I reduce daily 1 kg next day that again increase 1 kg I am doing daily 2 hour workout but same weight yet What should I do now Can any one answer me thanks.

Hi lybrate-user. When you start your workout, mostly the weight loss you see after the workout is water loss. The best way to see if you are loosing weight is via calculating inch loss. Measure your waist size and check the inch loss again after 15 days. It will show you the right results.

I daily go for walking for 30 t o 40 minutes since 20 years. But off late my tummy is increasing and my effort to reduce by different type of exercise along with brisk walking. Kindly suggest.

Hi. Thanks for the query. After 40-45 years of age, your metabolism slacks, your muscle mass reduces and your fat distribution may change. It's also possible that you have not made any changes in your eating habits which is the same as years ago. With each decade your diet has to change as well. There is no specific exercise to only reduce belly fat but you can add some stretches and strength training to your present workout. Also the more visceral fat is there the more it can affect your health. You need to modify your nutrition definitely to remove unwanted belly fat.

I had a desk job and in last 2 years my weight has gone up from 54 kgs to 68, tge worst part is that the fat is surrounded over the belly, I do not get enough time to exercise, please help.

Hello lybrate-user, your weight is normal according to your height ,but for tummy fat avoid junk food. Eat small and frequent meals instead of heavy meals. Choose high fiber diet and drink lots of water. Do 10-15 min walk after lunch and dinner. Eat early dinner around 7 pm-8 pm and sleep after 1 hour after eating dinner.

Write details of any tests done and medicine being taken at present. Do 1.no alcohol 3. No smoking/ tobacco 4. Diet - no ghee/ butter, have mix of vegetable oils - mustard, til, ground nut, olive oil, have more green vegetables and fruits, have whole grain atta, no fried. Fast. Spicy / processed/ junk food. Less sugar, potato, rice 5. 30 mts brisk walk daily 6. Deep breathing exercise for 10 mts daily 7. Meditation daily for 10 mts. 6-8 hrs of sleep at night 8. To reduce weight 1) do not eat for 3 hours before you go to sleep. Eating before going to bed is one of the main cause of rapid weight gain. 2) drink 8-10 glasses of water everyday. 3) eat more whole grains and cut simple carbs. Whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, sweet potato, and brown rice are all excellent sources of energy and sources of nutrition. 4) don't skip meals. 5) green tea help with weight loss, is by reducing appetite. 6) eat fresh fruits instead of fruit juices. Fruits are good source of fibre except banana mango, chiku. 7). At least half hour walk/day. All are common things but for definite result you need individual diet and exercise schedule. Itis also necessary to have proper diet plan along with the exercises.

These tips will help you lose weight & improve overall health. 1. Have small frequent meals at 2-3 hrs intervals. 2. Avoid junk/ fried/ sugary foods& drinks, alcohol, cold drinks, energy drinks, glucose. 3. Have healthy snacks in between main meals - whole fruits, coconut water, nuts, oilseed, soup, dal chila, dhokla, sprouts. 4. Include salads in lunch ,& dinner. 5. Take stairs instead of lift & walk instead of hiring transport. 6. Drink 3 litres water daily. 7. Take 15 mins light walk post main meals. 8. Eat slowly chewing each bite well. 9. Reduce oil/ ghee/ butter consumption for cooking. 10. Exercise daily for at least 1/2 hrk

Hello lybrate-user, eat healthy and balanced diet, include high fibers like fruits, vegetables, oats, wheatflakes, pulses. Don't skip your breakfast and eat 5-6 meals in a day restrict high fat diet or junk food (u can eat sometimes but not on daily basis, use healthy oils for cooking except ghee. Do brisk walk 25-30 min/day.

It's good to put bottle gourd  in boil vegetables. For weight loss. I eat boil vegetables in lunch sometime in breakfast too. It contains Carrots, bottle gourd, French beans, green peas, soybean chunks & sweet corns.

Hello lybrate-user, yes boiled vegetables are good for weight loss and there is no harm from bottle gourd. But don't eat in breakfast and lunch. You should eat boiled vegetables in dinner for good results. Eat healthy breakfast with five food groups like milk, cereals like oats/ poha, wheat flakes, eggs, sprouts (all should be prepared only in olive oil)

Hi Surekha There is very simple and easy to follow diet plan with which you can lose 2-5kg in just 15days. This plan can be done by you easily. For Breakfast you take 150g curd, 30g Lipolyzer powder, 10g milk cream, 25g roasted flax seed, 100g any fruit, mix them all together in a bowl. Lunch – 2 Chapatti made with Nutroactive Brown Atta, 150g cooked vegetables, 150g green salads like cucumber and tomato. Dinner – 200g any cooked vegetable or vegetable soup only. Follow this diet plan exactly as said; you will surely lose few kilos immediately. .
