I am 34 years old male. Often I have pain in my arm (around shoulder joint) just after waking up and it lasts for 2-3 days. It feels like some muscle has been twisted or stretched. I think is it because of my sleeping habits as I sleep on side but one of colleague told me that sometime it is due to some issues with heart. Please advice.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You complaints could be due to a soft tissue affection of the structures surrounding the shoulder joint like tendons, bursa, capsule etc. If there is no h/o any injury to the shoulder joint or any s/s of inflammation like instability, swelling, skin redness etc, then you can initiate a short course of anti inflammatory medications and physical therapy, and we will observe your progress for next 2-3 weeks, if you do not feel better, the we might get few investigations like mri of the affected shoulder region done. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. You can also discuss your case and treatment plans with me in a greater detail in a private consultation.

I'm 22 years old male. From my childhood I can feel that my fingers are too flexible and weak than others. My thumb finger can bend backward easily more than 90 deg. All my finger joint are loose and bend easily backwards. My palm skin is so delicate and loose, vulnerable to get hurt easily. I can feel that my thumb finger bone joint is loose when compared to right so it bends easily. I haven't seen these with any other friends. Others skin become hard when the do physical work. But whatever I do, it remains soft and delicate. Often I feel pain in my finger joints due to this. I struggle to do hard works with my hands. It gets so weak and chance of breaking my fingers is high. Still now the condition is worst. Recently, I gone through the Internet about my problem. It was stated that its a genetic problem called joint hypermobility syndrome (JHS. Which is rare and has no specific treatment. It also called Ehlers Danlos syndrome (EDS) which is lack of collagen. Do I have that disorder and how can I get remedy. Please I need a description of my condition and what I need to do to gain physical strength to do day to day work. Its good if I get reply from physiotherapists.

MBBS, Master in Healthcare Administration
General Physician, Delhi
- Current treatment options for EDS include: / Physical therapy (used to rehabilitate those with joint and muscle instability) / Surgery to repair damaged joints / Drugs to minimize pain - Additional treatment options may be available depending on the amount of pain you are experiencing or any additional symptoms. Take these steps to prevent injuries and to protect your joints: / Avoid contact sports. / Avoid lifting weights. / Put adequate padding on your child before they ride a bike or when they are learning to walk. / Use sunscreen to protect the skin. / Avoid harsh soaps that may over-dry the skin or cause allergic reactions. / Use assistive devices to minimize pressure on your joints.

Hi, apply rumalaya liniment and massage for 10 mins and give hot water fomentation. This can be done thrice daily. If the pain is severe, take tab. Yogaraja guggulu 1-1-1 with hot water after food. Use soft medium sized pillow while sleeping. Perform neck exercises for 10 mins in the morning and evening regularly.

Sir I have back pain from 2 months regular and sir it is so sad that I can not move plzz solve it.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Hyderabad
Back pain may be due to strain, sprain, weather change etc. *Avoid bending forward while working on lap top or for any other work. *Don’t sit continuously working on laptop etc. Get up periodically and move around. *Restrict bike driving as far as possible. *Don’t carry laptop or any load on your shoulder. Carrying very light loads equally with both hands is better *Sit straight so that back bone gets proper support. A dining chair is better than a laid back sofa. *You can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good *Soft bed will not give proper support to your back bone. Hard bed with thin mattress and thin pillow is better. *Get yourself tested whether you have spondylitis problem. Homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. Take Calc fluor 200--once daily in the morning for 6 days. For further treatment, consult privately (Prime-Rs. 149/ For your information, we have one month package for comprehensive treatment' Muscular and joint pain package" for Rs 500/- only. Sciatica- Sciatica is a neurological problem caused by the sciatic nerve which is the longest in the body. It emanates from the nerve roots in the lumber spinal cord at the low back and extends through the buttock down the lower limb. When the nerve gets pressed, pain radiates from thigh downwards. Homoeopathy has good treatment for your problem without causing adverse effects. More details and your symptoms may be given for very accurate prescription. Take homoeopathic medicine Colocynthis 200 daily one dose in the morning for 7 days and give feedback.
