Requires detailed investigation and examination. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

Duchene have no other option. It is x-linked chromosomal disease in male. No cure for this disease. Stem cell replacement therapy is still controversial and under trail mode. Difficult to say about the failure rate because no specific data is available still now.

You don't need medicine but good health support with fruit juices, Musambi,Aannar,pineapple and cold milk at least twice a day. You can Add available proteins.it might take a month more but you will be fit and Fine

Benefits of Hip Replacement Surgery

Human bones are continuously being removed and formed, which is necessary for its proper maintenance. However, in certain cases, especially with aging, some bones and joints will be worn down to an extent where the body will not be able to reform them. This is especially true in the case of hips, which may become worn due to age or other problems within the body. 

Hip replacement surgery: 
When this happens, a hip replacement surgery can be performed to replace the original joints with a prosthesis or artificial hip, which is usually made out of metal or a specially formed composite material or even a combination of the two. Along with other parts, it replaces the natural hip with an artificial hip to restore mobility and other related functions.

Benefits of hip replacement surgery:

  1. Lessening hip pain: This is one of the major factors as well as symptoms of requiring hip replacement surgery. Due to the grinding down of the bones, even the slightest movement causes pain and after the surgery and the recovery period, the pain is lessened.
  2. Correction of bone deformity: When the bones grind down and are abnormally reformed, deformities may occur reducing mobility. Artificial hips will ensure that deformities are corrected and resulting problems are thus eliminated.
  3. Return to normal activities: This is possibly one of the primary advantages of this surgery, although it entails a long recovery period. However, most patients can get back to their normal activities and are able to resume a pain free life.
  4. Ability to have painless sleep: Many people who suffer from hip displacements or bone deformities are not able to sleep properly due to pain. After the surgery and the recovery period, they can return to normal functions and habits, thus are able to sleep properly.
  5. Leg strength increase: Many patients tend to have an increase in their leg strength as one side of the hip tends to become very weak due to bone problems before surgery. After surgery and recovery, the same side tends to have an increased strength due to the implant.
  6. In most cases a lifelong solution to hip problems: As the hip replacement prosthesis is made out of metal and if the operation is successful, it usually tends to last till the end of a person's life and this area usually doesn't tend to have problems again.

Hi, 3 months back I have faced chest pain and all the reports were normal. Now, I have faced it once again on the right. It was a pinch and then back to normal. It occurred 5 to 6 times. I had honey milk with badam organ. After that it was occurred only once. I felt the pain on my back as well. Is there something serious problem or what was that? I experience tenderness in the jaw bone in exactly 2 spots: at a distance of 1 inch from the chin on both the left and right side. It doesn't pain unless pressed and even that is mild. No pain is felt even during jaw movements. I never got injured in that area either. But it is has been there for a couple of years and thus I felt concerned. Please advise.

If your proximal joints (ie. Shoulder, elbow, hip & knee) then you can do hot water fermentation in that area to reduce the inflammation. If you have pain in the distal joints ie. Wrist, fingers, ankle, toes then you can wear then you can do hot water fermentation in that area to reduce the inflammation. Please wear Knee Brace / Elbow Brace / Wrist Brace so that you will feel warm, comfortable and very protective. However if the pain initially starts in the distal joints then we shall definitely say it is Rheumatic arthritis. Knee cap will also help to prevent the damaged cartilages. And also immerse the distal joints in the hot water tub which will help you to reduce the pain.

1.. Go for fasting once a week. You can go for absolute fasting or rely on a liquid diet to digest ama (toxin). Fasting should be followed by hot fomentation or by taking a bath with lukewarm water or steam bath. 2.. After fasting and fomentation, mix powdered long pepper, black pepper and dried ginger in equal quantities and take 1 teaspoon of this powdered mix with lukewarm water twice a day. This will help you restore your digestive fire. 3.. Take one tablespoon of castor oil before going to bed, once or twice a week. It helps in cleansing ama (toxin) build up and balancing vata. 4.. Mix equal quantities of powdered fenugreek seeds, turmeric and ginger powder. Take one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening. 5.. For dry fomentation of the affected joints, take a cloth and fold it into four, fill it with hot and sand make a potli (bag) out of it. Use this bundle for the fomentation of different joints. This is very helpful in reducing pain and swelling.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Corns usually develop on the sole of foot due to constant pressure/friction. There could be many causes but initial management if it is not infected and there is no discharge will be: - use soft padded shoes or shoes with inserts which are available readily - low heels and wide toe box shoes should be used - use moisturizing cream, always use socks when wearing shoes, and try to decrease friction between shoe surface and skin - if there is any element of infection or discharge from any corn or calluses, then it is wise to seek opinion from an orthopaedc surgeon or a podiatrist.
