My wife is 30years old she have both kidney stones and suffering from low back pain, how can do care?

CCP, MBA, Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)

Kidney stones can be easily removed with the help of ayurvedic diet & lifestyle measures. Send me an ultrasound report of the stone till then, you can do the following home remedies: 1) take a equal mixture of lemon juice & olive oil 4-4 spoons 2) have a mixture of apple vinegar & honey. 3) boil two figs in a cup of water and drink it on an empty stomach early in the morning 4) drink a glass of tomato juice with a pinch of salt and pepper every morning. For backache do following home remedies: 1) mix camphor in coconut oil and boil it. Massage it followed by hot fomentation. 2) have turmeric & honey milk. 3) put a hot-water bag on back supported by a cushion. 4) add ginger while brewing your tea 5) if you are overweight, go for weight loss program 6) stay away from cold, go for hot water baths.

For backache - go for ayurveda's panchkarma therapy - we have many option for you - kati basti (specialised panchakarma procedure for backpains), localised massgae with herbal oils, localised medicated steam, pottali massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days. Regular oiling of the joint will improve the lubrication also. These procedures will relax your back muscles and give strength to your nerves and muscles of back. Also start some yogic exercises - tadasana, dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. This will greatly help. Please avoid pushing / pulling heavy objects, long sittings, long two-wheeler drives. Although some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking. For knees - gentle massage over knees with lukewarm herbal pain relieving oils daily for about 15-20 minutes and hot fomentation afterwards will greatly help in subsiding the pain. These procedures would give strength to your knee and reduce the pain and stiffness. Regular oiling the joint will improve the lubrication also. Use knee caps over the joints and avoid over exertion of the joint. This will greatly help. For general health - go for a complete detox of your body with the help of ayurveda's panchakarma therapy. It includes abhyangam (massage with medicated oils) n medicated steam bath. This wud rejuvenate your body - improving your work efficiency and bettering your sleep. It will also strengthen your nerves and muscles. These procedures will take out the harmful toxins out of your body - cleansing your body. Also take shirodhara which would completely take the stress out of your body and you will feel light, fresh and full of energy. This wud also help in weight reduction of her body.

I am a 28 yr guy. I having back pain and shoulder pain for 5 years. How to relieve from it. Daily am travelling 4 hours for last 5 months.

This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear mcr chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back. It is called as peri arthritis shoulder and for that you can do hot water fermentation and ice therapy at home. If you have shoulder pain then the stiffness will develop more that might make the arm to restrict with the normal range of motion in the shoulder joint and there by the blood circulation gets minimized to the shoulder / arm. In few cases if the sleep is disturbed because of the shoulder pain then cervical pillow can be used which might make you to have better posture of the shoulder, neck and arm.

Hi my mother recently done with hysterectomy laparoscopy she is getting back pain how should avoid it what king of foods she want to eat please tell me.

Homeopath, Delhi
Fruits, vegetables, beans, and grains are excellent sources of fiber and phytonutrients. Fiber helps you feel full for a longer period of time. Phytonutrients are natural components found in plant-based foods that give plants their rich pigments, as well as their distinctive taste and smell. There are thousands of phytonutrients that may strengthen the immune system, help prevent cancer, and provide other health benefits, including promotion of cancer survivorship. Healthy fats, such as olive, flax, and canola, are very good for your heart health, and good sources of additional calories. Nuts and seeds are also sources of healthy fats. Your goal is to aim for 5-10 servings of colorful fruits and vegetables, and about five servings of grains every day. One serving is equal to: 1 cup leafy greens, berries or melon chunks 1/2 cup for all other fruits and vegetables 1 medium fruit/vegetable (i. E. Apple, orange) 1/4 cup dried fruit 3/4 cup juice here are some suggestions for a menu: breakfast (choose one from each of the following three options) 1 cup cereal/1 whole wheat bagel/1 whole wheat toast 1 cup lowfat milk/1 cup lowfat plain yogurt/1 tbsp light cream cheese 1/2 pink grapefruit/1 small pear/ 1 small apple/1/2 box raisins snacks 1-2 graham crackers with 2 tbsp peanut butter 10 kashi tlc crackers with 1 string cheese 10 medium grapes 1 cup popcorn, air popped 10 almonds kashi 7 grain bar fluids (at least eight 8-ounce cups per day) choose mostly water; sparingly opt for 100% juice (cranberry, apple, orange). Dinner meat: choose mostly chicken and turkey, baked or broiled fish: baked or grilled is best salad: every time you make a green salad, add about 1 tbsp of a healthy oil: olive, flax, canola; sprinkle about 1 tbsp of sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds vegetables: fresh or frozen, steamed or stir-fried with canola oil.

Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

I have always back pain. I consult many doctors. What I want to do. Please help me?

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Hyderabad
Back pain may be due to strain, sprain, weather change etc. *Avoid bending forward while working on lap top or for any other work. *Don’t sit continuously working on laptop etc. Get up periodically and move around. *Restrict bike driving as far as possible. *Don’t carry laptop or any load on your shoulder. Carrying very light loads equally with both hands is better *Sit straight so that back bone gets proper support. A dining chair is better than a laid back sofa. *You can use mustard oil for massage which is good in winter season for relieving pain. Eucalyptus oil is also good *Soft bed will not give proper support to your back bone. Hard bed with thin mattress and thin pillow is better. *Get yourself tested whether you have spondylitis problem. Homoeopathy has a good treatment for this without adverse effects. To start with, take Calc fluor 200--once daily in the morning and once in the evening for 6 days.

I am a diabetic from past 10 years. I experience pain in my legs and weakness too. Sugar levels are under control at present. What investigations should I go for?

Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
Ayurveda, Bundi
No further investigation needed if you know that sugar is under control. After all more investigations will not have corrective properties. It will only analyze the damage. Neuropathy, retinopathy etc progress even when sugar is under control by allopathic drugs. I recommend support of herbal combos for strengthening nerves and combating general weakness in sugar patients. Initially your current medicine shouldn't be interrupted.

About 5 to 6 months back I experienced this stabbing pain in my right hip when I tried to stand or walk while sitting I did not feel it. I am experiencing the same problem now. I have no swelling, redness or stiffness in my hip just this intense pain in my hip due to which sometimes my whole right leg feels numb. This is the second time and the pain is unbearable I cannot even sleep because every now and then when I turn I feel this bolt of pain. I would really appreciate some advice on what I am suffering from and to know if it is serious.

MBBS, MD - Anaesthesiology, FIPM
Pain Management Specialist, Pune
Amisha without examining you its difficult to give you a diagnosis as many conditions can cause this sort of pain. 1. This could be a disc prolapse with radiculopathy that is your disc in the spine might be causing nerve compression. 2. This could be Quadratus Lumborum myofascial pain. In simple words pain in the deep back muscles. Since you have feeling of numbness in your leg at times you should better consult in person before neuro deficit progresses.

My body joint is paining and body joint is not working properly. My body is feeling looseness and weakness. Can you help me and get a best solutions.

DNB ORTHO, MNAMS (Membership of the National Academy) (General Surgery) , MS ORTHO, MBBS
Have you ever felt pain in your great toe or may be ankle/foot/knee/heel/wrist/elbow which was intially in one joint and over the time involved other joints too. Then you might be having increased uric acid levels. Diet is important in such patients. Consume food less in purine content like cornflakes, white bread, pasta, flour, milk and its products, eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, green veggies and fruit juices. Strict no to all high purine foods like meats, seafood, beas, peas, lentils, spinach, cauliflower, mushrooms, beer and other alcoholic beverages.
