I have got diabetes from last 4 months. Are there any chances of revering diabetes?

I have got diabetes from last 4 months. Are there any chances of revering diabetes?
For diabetes follow a diet low in carbohydrate, low in fat and high in fibre. Walking for 30 mins a day for at least 5 days in a week is recommended. Reversing is possible if you follow diet and exercise (only if your blood sugar are slightly elevated)

DIABETIC RETINOPATHY

MS - Ophthalmology, MBBS
Ophthalmologist, Jaipur
DIABETIC RETINOPATHY
Diabetes is known to cause total and irreparable blindness if not attended in time. It is important that every deiabetic patient if fully examined by an expert ophthalmologist. There are certain drugs which can prevent damage to retina. Once the retina is involved, we cal it diabetic retinopathy which if not attended can lead to vitreous haemorrhage and retinal detachment which finally may lead to total and irreparable blindness. Timely intervention in cases of diabetic retinopathy by oct examination may reveal changes which can be reversed by photocoagulation and more effectively by intravitreal injections of lucentis or avastin.

Hi lybrate-user you are on good treatment, though google might show you side effects of these medicines, they are extremely rare and you will be regularly monitored for same, if there is any indication medication will be changed by your rheumatologists accordingly. Unfortunately ra most times is a life long disease in more than 95% of cases, so treatment is usually continuous like diabetes and hypertension. The side effects and damage caused by not taking medicines is much more than taking medicines. If you don't keep ra well controlled by taking medicines regularly then it can be life threatening also. Don't think that you are having side effects by reading google, consult and talk to your rheumatologist. As I said the side effects are very rare. Usually ra medicines are safe with minor issues for prolonged periods even 20 years safety of continuously taking these drugs has been documented.

Archanji, Please start the treatment immediately with thyroxine. Dose will depend on your weight and current TSH levels. Plus you should avoid soy beans, soy containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, peanuts, mustard and coffee. Consume more of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Use whole grain flour for chapati and roti. Exercise daily for 1 hour.

Dear lybrateuser, -Because of nerve damage, people with diabetes may not have typical chest pain during a heart attack, instead they may experience milder chest pressure or sudden shortness of breath or sweating, or even an unexplainable change in blood glucose levels -on investigation ecg may show changes.

You and your husband needs detailed work up and then to decide the treatment plan. Menopause at 31 years is not common but still can happen. But that does not mean that there is no hope. Even after this ''early menopause", you still can have a baby. Never lose hope. All the best.
