I am always expecting bleeding in left nostril, what should I do? So scared as I loose alot of blood when it happens.

BHMS
Homeopath, Kolkata
Please visit an ent for physical check-up. The easiest way to stop a nosebleed is the time-honored pinch cure. Pinching the nose sends pressure to the bleeding point in the nasal septum, which helps stop the flow of blood immediately. 1. Sit up straight with your head tilted slightly forward. 2. Using your thumb and index finger, pinch the soft part of your nose below the bony bridge. 3. Do this for 5 to 10 minutes. During this time, breathe through your mouth. 4. Release the pressure gently and sit quietly for 5 minutes. 5. Repeat as necessary until the bleeding stops. Note: do not lay flat, tilt your head back or put your head between your legs. Also, do not blow your nose.

I am suffering from cold throughout the year. Blocked nose. I am not able to take breath easily. So kindly tell me how to get rid of it. Its urgent. thanks.

General Physician, Bhopal
Its possible you might be having an allergy of nasal mucosa. Try taking steam inhalation 2 to 3 times a day. Saline nasal drops are available on medical stores you can use it to clear your nose. Avoid allergens like dust smoke and chemical deodorants etc.

Dear lybrate-user if attach an audiogram report or mention the audiogram findings will give me clear idea about type of hearing loss whether it's treatable or not. If it's sensorineural hearing loss in which ear drum is normal but there is permanent loss of inner ear that is cochlea or auditory nerve is mostly not treated by medical or surgical treatment. Let me know if it helps. Thanks.

I suffered from Sensori-Neural Hearing loss in left ear last year in October due to viral infection. I got treatment with Hyperbaric oxygen therapy and steroid injections. I recovered only partial hearing. Is there any possibility of complete recovery. I am suffering from tinnitus since then. Is there any scope of recovery?

MS - ENT
ENT Specialist, Bangalore
Recovery after sudden sensory neural hearing loss is usually not complete and residual hearing loss is common. If tinnitus persists try tinnitus masking devices.

In summer blood coming from the nose is quite common. Just pinch the nose for about 5 minutes the bleeding should stop. Hydrate yourself by drinking plenty of water.

Do not chew before swallowing. Prepare a glass of water when you do this as well. Peanut butter and bread bemedy – this is another sticky remedy that may help dislodge that stuck fishbone from your throat. Spread a thick layer of peanut butter on a piece of bread and put this in your mouth.
