I have a stye. I am applying warm compresses to it. What else to do to reduce the swelling.
Hello lybrate-user. Sorry about your eye trouble. I have a few guidelines for you: (1) modify your diet. Avoid oils, pickles, spicy food completely. (2) avoid (strictly) rubbing your eyes with fingers, handkerchief, shirt or any type of cloth material. (3) wash your eyes with clean hands and clean water in a gentle manner at least 4 times in a day. (4) while bathing, use johnson baby shampoo-apply it on eyelid-keep eyes closed-wash it off after 2 minutes. This will debulk all the crust that tends to form on the eyes. (5) use an antibiotic eye ointment (eg ocupol eye ointment) to apply on your eyelids. Use it 4 times in a day. Once applied, it should not be washed for at least an hour. (6) use a lubricant eye drop. (7) use protective sunglasses, helmet while driving a 2 wheeler vehicle. (8) you may/ may not require oral anti inflammatory tablets. If the stye is big and causing a lot of pain and discomfort, it would be a good idea to visit the nearest eye specialist and get it assessed in further detail. Hope my suggestions helped you.

Hello Doctor, I am having migraine headaches frequently. Things I experience are - Pulsating head pain, pain increases as I move, eye strain (becomes very sensitive to light. What should I do now. Which doctor should I consult?

BHMS

Hello Doctor, I am having migraine headaches frequently. Things I experience are - Pulsating head pain, pain increase...
Dear Lybrate user Homoeopathic constitutional treatment will give you quick and permanent cure, Migraine is a complex disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of headache, most often unilateral and in some cases associated with visual or sensory symptoms—collectively known as an aura—that arise most often before the head pain but that may occur during or afterward . Migraine is most common in women and has a strong genetic component Signs and symptoms Typical symptoms of migraine include the following: 1.Throbbing or pulsatile headache, with moderate to severe pain that intensifies with movement or physical activity 2.Unilateral and localized pain in the frontotemporal and ocular area, but the pain may be felt anywhere around the head or neck 3.Pain builds up over a period of 1-2 hours, progressing posteriorly and becoming diffuse 4.Headache lasts 4-72 hours 5.Nausea (80%) and vomiting (50%), including anorexia and food intolerance, and light-headedness 6.Sensitivity to light and sound Features of migraine aura are as follows: 1.May precede or accompany the headache phase or may occur in isolation 2.Usually develops over 5-20 minutes and lasts less than 60 minutes 3.Most commonly visual but can be sensory, motor, or any combination of these 4.Visual symptoms may be positive or negative 5.The most common positive visual phenomenon is the scintillating scotoma, an arc or band of absent vision with a shimmering or glittering zigzag border Physical findings during a migraine headache may include the following: *Cranial/cervical muscle tenderness *Horner syndrome (ie, relative miosis with 1-2 mm of ptosis on the same side as the headache) *Conjunctival injection *Tachycardia or bradycardia *Hypertension or hypotension *Hemisensory or hemiparetic neurologic deficits (ie, complicated migraine) *Adie-type pupil (ie, poor light reactivity, with near dissociation from light) Homoeopathic constitutional treatment cures this malady completely since it goes to the root of the disease and removes this tendency permanently. Some of Homoeopathic remedies used for treating migraine are Belladonna, Spigelia,Sanguinaria, Glonoine,Natrum mur, Phosphorus, Tuberculinum, Iris versicolor, medicine should be strictly selected based on symptom similarity to get permanent cure.

I had left eye irritation for 20 days and had blurred vision in the same. So I consulted an ophthalmologist and after check up and he told me that it may be because of some allergy and prescribed me with two eye drops for one week. Also he said that I have minus 0.75 power. It has been a week and now I feel better with the irritation. But sometimes I feel like my left eye gives blurred vision and sometimes like it gives normal. What is the reason? What is the solution?

I have red eye last 2days. I don't know how it is. I am so worry for my eyes. Please let me what I do.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
I have red eye last 2days. I don't know how it is. I am so worry for my eyes. Please let me what I do.
Eyes appear red because the vessels at the surface of the white portion of the eye (sclera) become swollen. Vessels may swell due to: • Eye dryness • Too much sun exposure • Dust or other particles in the eye • Allergies • Infection • Injury Eye infections or inflammation can cause redness as well as possible itching, discharge, pain, or vision problems. These may be due to: • Blepharitis: Swelling along the edge of the eyelid. • Conjunctivitis: Swelling or infection of the clear tissue that lines the eyelids and covers the surface of the eye (the conjunctiva). This is often referred to as "pink eye." • Corneal ulcers: Sores on the cornea most often caused by a serious bacterial or viral infection. • Uveitis: Inflammation of the uvea, which includes the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. The cause is most often not known. It may be related to an autoimmune disorder, infection, or exposure to toxins. The type of uveitis that causes the worst red eye is called iritis, in which only the iris is inflamed. Other potential causes of eye redness include: • Colds or allergies . • Acute glaucoma: A sudden increase in eye pressure that is extremely painful and causes serious visual problems. This is a medical emergency. The more common form of glaucoma is chronic and gradual. • Corneal scratches: Injuries caused by sand, dust, or overuse of contact lenses. Sometimes, a bright red spot, called a subconjunctival hemorrhage, will appear on the white of the eye. This often happens after straining or coughing, which causes a broken blood vessel on the surface of the eye. Most often, there is no pain and your vision is normal. It is almost never a serious problem. Because the blood leaks into the conjunctiva, which is clear, you cannot wipe or rinse the blood away. Like a bruise, the red spot will go away within a week or two. So,visit a local eyespecialist. The diagnosis of your problem in eyes can only be made by local examination of eyes

My left eye have losing power. What should I do. It may solute by a specs or any need of treatment?

My left eye have losing power. What should I do. It may solute by a specs or any need of treatment?
Hello, How much is the power? Include the following for getting better vision: Vitamins A, C, E, and minerals like copper and zinc are essential to eyesight. Get the antioxidants from dark leafy greens, egg yolks, yellow peppers, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and carrots. Include garlic and onions. Blueberries, grapes as they have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve your vision. DHA is a fatty acid found in coldwater fish like wild salmon, sardines and mackerel. Exercises for eyes: Warm your eyes. Rub your palms together to create heat, and then place them against your eyes for five seconds. Repeat this three times. Roll your eyes. Start by looking up and then slowly circle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise. Focus. Hold a pen at arm's length, focus your eyes on it, and slowly bring the pen closer until it's about 6 inches away from your nose. Then slowly move it back, keeping your eyes focused on the pen, 10 times in all. Massage your temples. Using your thumb knuckles, massage your temples in small circles, 20 times in one direction and 20 in the other. Repeat the same actions above the mid-point of the eyebrows at the forehead, then below the eyes on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Take a mini-nap. Put your head back, close your eyes, and relax for 3 minutes. Insufficient sleep may weaken your vision, so shoot for 8 hours of sound sleep a night. Rest your eyes 10 minutes for every 50 minutes spent reading or in front of the computer. If your eyes feel overly tired, lie down and place cooling cucumber slices over your eyelids. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine which will help you in preventing rather reducing the power of your eyes. Take Physostigma 6/ thrice daily for 1 month. Thereafter, revert back for further guidance.

Hello, my eyes look yellowish. I've consulted a doctor. Checked the LFT. It shows high bilirubin count. The doctor said there is nothing to worry. But I'm really worried. Is there any cure. What is your diagnosis of my condition?

Hello, my eyes look yellowish. I've consulted a doctor. Checked the LFT. It shows high bilirubin count. The doctor sa...
The term used for yellow eyes is icterus. It correlates with your bilirubin count. I would recommend you to take an expert opinion for the same with a gastroenterologist. Liver conditions may at times be associated with yellowing of the sclera of the eye which lead to the yellow coloration. There may be no direct treatment for the eye but systemic treatment (if indicated) and restoration of normal bilirubin levels may help in normalizing your eye color as well. Take care.

Hi, I suffer from myopia and my both eye power is -9. My age is 46 and I am healthy. Doctor has suggested me to go for lasik surgery which can help me to get back my 20/20 vision which is not good right now. I am a bit skeptical to go for the surgery of eyes which are the most delicate part of the body. Should you suggest me whether it is risky to go for the surgery? Is it painful or not? Are there any side effects later? Please advice.

Considering your age I will not suggest you lasik. Even if your distance sight is corrected you would require glasses for close. There are many other complications associated with lasik. If you ever develop cataract, your myopia would be corrected. So continue with your glasses.
