Firstly we have to see how well is diabetes controlled. For that, a recent report of fbs/ppbs/ hba1c is needed. Poor diabetes control has increased risk of infections and joint pain. There must be atleast 20 kg weight loss. Losing weight will help to control diabetes as well as reduce joint pain. A lft (liver function test) is needed to monitor liver functions. Finally we have to do a x-ray of both knees (ap & lat) to check for any joint abnormality. Based on these investigation we can further proceed for management.
