It can be because of dermatitis/ eczema or allergy or dryness or fungal infection or psoaiasis etc. I need details of case n preferably pics of affected area. Hello lybrate-user, scalp fungal infection need oral antifungal along with lotion and shampoo as it is deep infection which does not respond to only creams or lotions. Outer border is active border of fungus and it spreads from there scratching can spread fungal infection to nails.
