It’s a myth that the vagina needs extensive cleaning with perfumed soaps or feminine hygiene products. Your vagina contains a lot of “good” bacteria. These bacteria maintain the ideal ph balance in your vagina, which is slightly acidic. The acidic ph makes it hard for “bad” bacteria to infect your vagina. Washing your vagina can also affect your vagina’s ability to clean itself. So if you want a clean vagina, leave it alone to clean itself! you should wash your vulva with warm water. If you’d like, you can use a mild soap that won’t irritate the skin — but this isn’t necessary. In addition to washing your vulva, it’s a good idea to wash the anus and the area between your vulva and anus every day. It’s best to wash “front to back” — in other words, wash your vulva first and then your anus. Otherwise, bacteria from the anus can spread to your vagina, which can cause infections. You don’t have to use soap to wash your vulva. If you want to use soap, choose a soap that’s unscented, mild, and colorless. Fragranced soap can irritate the sensitive skin in and around the vulva. Most supermarkets have a range of feminine washes and sprays that are said to reduce odor and clean the vagina. Don’t buy these. These products were essentially created to prey on people’s insecurities regarding their bodily odors. In truth, these products are both unnecessary and harmful, as they can irritate your vulva and vagina. To ensure cleanliness, the vulva needs nothing fancier than water, mild soap and a gentle pat dry (do not rub). Anything introduced to the vagina risks upsetting the careful balance of bacteria for more details you can consult me. It’s a good idea to avoid perfumed soaps, gels and antiseptics, as these can affect the healthy balance of bacteria and ph levels in the vagina and cause irritation. Women are advised to use plain, unperfumed soaps to wash the area around the vagina (the vulva) – not inside it – gently every day. During a woman’s period, washing more than once a day may be helpful.

Hello lybrate-user, firstly, a lot of us - tend to use soaps for cleansing their scalp and hair, this can be very problematic for the hair and scalp health. Soaps are too harsh and stripping, as are a lot of shampoos. We must use a mild shampoo, one which will not strip our scalp of its natural oils entirely. Also, simply washing the hair with shampoo will not do. A good conditioner should be applied on 3/4th of the hair (avoiding the scalp) every time you wash your hair. Most conditioners contain amino acids, which help to nourish and repair the hair and reduce frizz and breakage of hair. There is no set frequency of hair washing that we can recommend, since it depends on the individual’s hair type and how fast the scalp becomes oily after washing. However, we recommend that you do not wash your hair so frequently that it becomes dry to the point of breakage and frizz healthy diet and regular exercise to prevent hair fall. For medicinal treatment consult me online.

I'm 26 years old female. I have been experiencing severe hair fall for several years. Even after trying several oils and haircare routines and reducing the use of shampoos, the hair fall doesn't stop. Last year I experienced extreme and prolonged headache and lethargy after my periods. Due to covid, I was not able to consult a doctor and my condition worsened towards the end of the location. So, I assumed that I may be anaemic by referring to the internet and started consuming iron and folic acid tablets for 3 months. Later, towards the end of the year, I consulted a gynec who suggested me some oestrogen tablets and hb and thyroid test. The thyroid and hb test showed no abnormalities but i've become pale. I can clearly see the difference between my lip colour and colour inside the eye lids which earlier used to be red. I still have hair fall. I lose a bunch of hair while oiling, washing and even while simply running my fingers through them. I don't know what to do. I also experience difficult to fall asleep, but once i've, I sleep continuously. Could you please help me with the problem?

As you have mentioned, you have oily hair/scalp first thing you should do is to avoid overnight hair oil application. You should wash your hair atleast thrice a week with shampoo containing salicylic acid or coal tar or ketoconazole. While using above mentioned shampoo remember to apply it properly on scalp and keep it atleast 3 to 5 minutes before washing for getting better results.

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you. Blackheads on the nose are common. While they're harmless, they can be annoying. Washing your face daily, using oil-free sunscreen, and experimenting with pore strips, retinols, or products that contain salicylic acid may help remove them from your nose. Self-tanner may actually make blackheads look more prominent. Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.

The skin's optimal ph is 5.5 - this ph level keeps the skin looking radiant and also resists harmful bacteria. The issue is that when your skin produces excess oil (see #1 in the chart) your skin becomes acidic.
