Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details mentioned. With a hba1c% of 10%, it is clear that your diabetes is not at all in good control. Considering your age, it is necessary to maintain hba1c% < 6.5%, fbg < 100 mg & pp 150 to 160 mg. This control will help in preventing or postponing the long term complications associated with t2 dm. Quite often when control goes hay wire, using of insulin helps to regain the control and after 4 to 6 months one may be able to maintain a good control only with oral drugs also. Since there is no information given on fasting, pp glucose, dietary details, extent of daily exercise no further comments can be made. Another important aspect looking at your weight and height with a bmi (body mass index) of 29 kg/sq meter (normal < 23 kg/sq meter), you are already close to grade 1 obesity. You have an excess of over 16 kg. This also does hinder the blood glucose control. If you have any questions please do come back with all the details including your medications. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the details. First thing is you will have to use a syringe which mentions 40 iu on it. Then with that you will have to take 7.5 mm of insulin in it. Do not use 100 unit's syringe. Thanks. If possible you can shift to insulin pens, though expensive a very convenient method for use. Thanks.

I would recommend you to consult an endocrinologist and change your insulin from a premixed one to an analog mix like ryzodeg. However given the long-standing diabetes you are having I would suggest you to be on a basal bolus regimen which involves using two different insulins, in short two pens which will provide you finer control and better flexibility.
