I have not treated. It is uncommon but not very rare. Instead of many doctors go to one gynecologist in whom you have trust and he/she has experience. In some bigger cities there are special vulval clinics. Examination by gynecologist and some reports will rule out whether it is secondary to yeast or herpes infections, traumatic incidents like sexual assaults, pathological conditions like behcet or crohn’s disease, precancerous conditions, irritants like soaps, and skin abnormalities like dermatitis and psoriasis. Examination will differentiate between vulvar vestibulitis syndrome dysesthetic vulvodynia. Pharmacological and behavioral therapies help most and last resort is surgical.

Hello hope you are keeping safe 1) I understand your concern, please understand that any fungal or viral infection with proper treatment will take 2-4 weeks for healing. According to your brief history, it's present for 6 months which is a pretty long time and maybe you need a short course of oral antiviral / antifungal medication. 2) firstly,we need to confirm whether it is fungal or viral and treat accordingly. Kindly attach a photo of the lesions for me to arrive at a diagnosis and give you the specific treatment for it. 3) if fungal please follow these measures - keep area always dry - use only dry clothes - iron your clothes before wearing to kill the fungal molds - do not share your personal items. - maintain good genital hygiene - change of bed linen and towels please understand only after confirming the diagnosis, i'll be able to advice whether to continue with lulliconazole or not. Dewsoft cream is just a moisturizer and does not treat the fungus / virus. Hope your query is cleared thank you and take care.

Balanitis is an inflammation of the glans, or the head, of the penis, due to infection or another cause. Balanitis can be uncomfortable and sometimes painful, but it is not usually serious. It can be relieved with topical medication. Balanitis can stem from a number of conditions. Infection with candida albicans is the most common cause. candida is the fungus that causes thrush. Other infections that can cause balanitis include: bacteria: these can multiply rapidly in the moist and warm conditions under the foreskin sexually transmitted infections (stis): examples include herpes simplex virus, chlamydia, and syphilis. Skin conditions examples include: lichen planus, a skin disease with small, itchy, pink, or purple spots on the arms or legs eczema, a chronic, or long-term, skin condition that can lead to itchy, reddened, cracked, and dry skin psoriasis, a dry, scaly skin disorder dermatitis, an inflammation of the skin, due to direct contact with an irritant or an allergic reaction white spots on the foreskin can develop for several reasons. They can be harmless pimples and skin bumps or bacterial infections and sexually transmitted infections. Depending on the cause, white spots may appear alone or in clumps, vary in size, and be associated with other symptoms, such as thick discharge. Antifungal creams can treat balanitis caused by candida. If the inflammation appears to be due to an allergic reaction or irritant, you may be prescribed a mild steroid cream, such as one percent hydrocortisone, for the swelling. An antifungal or antibiotic medication may also be prescribed.

Balanitis is an infection or inflammation of the skin on the head (glans) of the penis. In men who are not circumcised, this area is covered by a flap of skin known as the foreskin, or prepuce. Balanitis can occur in both circumcised and uncircumcised men, although it occurs more commonly in men who are not circumcised. Young boys generally are affected only if they have a very tight foreskin that is difficult to pull back. A variety of infections and skin conditions can cause balanitis. These include: infections with yeast (candida) or bacteria that live on the skin (the most common cause) sexually transmitted infections, such as herpes simplex irritation of the skin by soap, detergents or spermicidal jelly benign (noncancerous) skin conditions such as psoriasis some types of skin cancer (very rare) while any man can develop balanitis, the condition is most likely to occur in men who have a tight foreskin that is difficult to pull back, or who have poor hygiene. Diabetes can make balanitis more likely, especially if the blood sugar is poorly controlled. High blood sugar causes elevated amounts of sugar in the urine. Sugar-rich urine that dribbles on to the glans and under the foreskin provides a friendly environment for yeast and bacteria. Also, people with poorly controlled diabetes have a harder time fighting infections. When balanitis keeps recurring, it may be caused by a yeast infection transmitted back and forth between partners during sexual contact. Treatment depends on the cause. If your problem is caused by a yeast infection, you will be advised to use an antifungal cream. Clotrimazole (lotrimin, mycelex) is a very effective over-the-counter medication, which is also used for treating vaginal yeast infections and athlete's foot. Apply it to the affected area two to three times daily for 10 days. Your doctor also may recommend a prescription antifungal treatment, either in a cream or pill form. If you have an infection with skin bacteria, you will be told to use an antibiotic cream, and to make sure you clean the area thoroughly. Occasionally antibiotic pills may be necessary. When the skin is inflamed, but not infected, you will be advised to keep the area clean and dry and to avoid any soaps or skin lotions that may be aggravating the condition. Sometimes a cortisone cream can help to improve the problem more quickly. However, cortisone can make certain infections worse, so it is best to avoid this type of medication unless it is prescribed by a physician. Once effective treatment begins, you usually do not need to avoid sex, although sexual contact can chafe or inflame the affected area. Rarely, sexual contact can pass an infection back and forth between partners. If this occurs, both partners may require treatment at the same time to prevent further episodes. In uncircumcised men, circumcision often prevents repeated infections, especially in men who have a tight, difficult-to-retract foreskin.

Balanitis describes inflammation of the glans penis and posthitis means inflammation of the prepuce. In practice, both areas are often affected together, and the term balanoposthitis then used. It is a collection of disparate conditions with similar clinical presentation and varying etiologies affecting a particular anatomical site. Balanitis is common in uncircumcised men as a result of poorer hygiene and aeration or because of irritation by smegma and in many cases preputial dysfunction is a causal or contributing factor. Balanitis may be more severe in the presence of some underlying medical conditions. It has been reported as a source of fever and bacteremia in neutropenic men and candidal balanitis may be especially severe in patients with diabetes mellitus. The objectives of management are: to minimize sexual dysfunction to minimize urinary dysfunction to exclude penile cancer to treat premalignant disease to diagnose and treat sexually transmitted disease. *all persistent/undiagnosed genital lesions regardless of appearance must be evaluated for herpes predisposing factors include poor hygiene and over washing, over-the-counter (otc) medications, as well as non retraction of the foreskin many cases of balanitis seen in practice are a simple intertrigo; that is, inflammation between two layers of skin with bacterial or fungal overgrowth rapid resolution can be achieved most frequently in practice by advising the patient to keep his foreskin retracted if possible, having advised him of the risk of paraphimosis saline baths are also useful and medicated otc talcum powders are helpful in drying the area. This advice is simple, but compliance may be challenging many patients will present having tried antifungal creams, often obtained otc. Such cases usually come with relapse. The simple measures have a more durable effect.
