You should take an opinion of gastroenterologist as losing 10 kg in 2 years when the weight is just 35 kg is very unusual. Simultaneously, in her case a short admission can be considered for detailed evaluation and to see what medication suits her well as she is having very low weight and suicidal thoughts. What is your age? Since when r you having this? What r other symptoms that you r experiencing? By doing what like walking, exertion, eating or empty stomach- it increases or decreases in intensity. For how much time it remains? Is there stiffness also? How is your appetite? R you constipated or having loose stools? Any problem in urine? I need details of the case.in the meanwhile do test your hb, blood sugar, thyroid function test, vit d, calcium. Follow this 1. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. U should eat whatever your mother or grandparent eat in bfast. I mean to say whatever is your traditional food. If punjabi eat paratha, if belongs to south then take idli/ dosa etc. 2. Don't overeat 3. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of plain water first thing in the morning (preferably within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 4. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of mixed dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, any fresh n seasonal fruit (eat whole fruit not juice), a cup of curd/milk etc 5. Take simple food like rice n dal in dinner. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 6. Maintain active life style 7. Avoid fast foods, spicy n fried foods, carbonated beverages 8. Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 9. Drink lot of water. 10. Everyday preferably sleep on same time 11. Take 1tsp of ghee in bfast, lunch n dinner. Exercise in the form of yoga, cycling, swimming, gym etc.

Hello, thanks for the query. I have gone through the details given. However, I did not see any mention of important info like fasting & pp glucose and current hba1c%, dietary details, extent of daily physical exercise and bp as well as lipid profile. Another aspect is that drugs like udupa (dapagliflozin), invokana (canagliflozin) tablet motyvyst 300 (canagliflozin 300 mg) & jardiance (empagliflozin) all these are similar drugs, known as sglt - 2 inhibitors, which act by excreting extra glucose through urine and also do help in some weight reduction. Usually only one of these is given not two together. (like invokana & udupa). I am a bit surprised to see such a prescription. Another important aspect is your bmi (body mass index) which is 29 kg/sq meter (normal < 23 kg/sq meter). Your ideal body weight has to be 77 kg. Which means there is an excess of over 20 kg. Looking all these aspects there is a need to look at your over all treatment which includes your diet, extent of exercise, hba1c%, drugs to control glucose and over all lifestyle. If you have any questions please do come back. I am sure you are aware that in a well controlled diabetes patient fb should be < 100 mg, pp 150 to 160 mg & hba1c% < 6.5%. Achieving such strict control ensures either the prevention of or postponement of long term consequences of diabetes. Thanks.

It seems the stomach infection for which you were treated was an attack of pancreatitis which resulted in type 1dm you are dependent on insulin as your body does not produce insulin hence no tablet of any group shall be effective since you have not given your height weight recent f and pp sugar, hba1c, whether you have bp or not and how any times you were taking and strength of insulin you will require ideally basal dose at bedtime and one insulin shot before each meal but it can reduced to basal plus before breakfast and dinner, thus omitting lunch dose if you are working if you wish to consult me take appointment privately and shall explain you diet exercise and insulin regimen but get at least sugarf and please and hba1c done before calling.
