HIV negative doesn't mean you are negative for all other STDs. P24 is one but important antigen. However in HIV-2 infection there is no p24 Antigen. So better to test again at 3 months on Spot or ELISA for HIV 1 and 2.

If HIV test (By ELISA) is negative after 3 months of exposure, then there is no risk of infection.

If years per DNA test it comes back negative, you may re-test at the 3 month mark for conclusive results. International guidelines state that an HIV test is considered definite and conclusive when taken 3 months after an exposure. You may opt to get an antibody test done e.g. 3rd Generation ELISA or Rapid Test. Scientifically speaking, we cannot say that these tests have a 100% accuracy, but they do an excellent job at detecting infection (99%+) provided they are taken at the right time.

Elisa test will be negative after 27 days of exposure and it doesn't gives you a clean chit. Kindly repeat it again after 3 months.
