Hello, thanks for the query. I have seen the query. Whichever insulin one may take there is no need to take any form of "glucose" to avoid "hypoglycemia" because if you are taking properly calculated insulin dosage then there will be no hypoglycemia. But if it does occur then taking a small amount of sugar or a candy can help overcome the same. The insulin dosage needs to be based on both fasting and pp glucose levels. Plus when fasting level is above 140 mg, then your night dosage needs to be increased by 2 units & similarly if pp is higher than 180 mg then pre-lunch or pre-dinner dosage needs to be increased by 2 units. Similarly if fasting glucose is < 100 mg then night dosage has to be reduced by 2 units and if pp is < 140 mg then ore-lunch or pre dinner dosage needs to be reduced by 2 units. However, dosage reduction or increase has to be done only once in 3 to 4 days. But checking needs to be done more often. If you have any questions please do come back. Another very important issue is that you have almost grade 3 or morbid obesity with a bmi of 39.72 kg/sq meter, normal < 23 kg/sq meter). Hence there is an excess of over 50 kg weight. Therefore, even if you are able to cut 10 to 15 kg your glucose levels will become well controlled. Thanks.
