Hi, Welcome to Lybrate. From what you have described, you have colour blindness and congenital nystagmus (continuous movement of eyes to and fro). Congenital nystagmus is not the same as 'short sight' Short sight is usually used to refer to Myopia. Colour blindness is a genetic condition usually. As such, there is no cure for it unfortunately. There is no cure for congenital nystagmus either. For short sight, you can get your eyes checked to see if you need to wear glasses, which can increase your vision. It is better to visit an Ophthalmologist for a dilated retina examination. In some patients there can be problems in the retina that can cause impaired colour perception. The cause for your congenital nystagmus may also be picked up from your retinal examination.

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about the color blindness. For congenital nystagmus. If there is a particular position where your eyes are almost stable and not moving. A squints surgery may help. If you have associated low vision, there are now a number of low vision aids available which make a dramatic difference in your daily living. Will suggest you to consult pediatric ophthalmic or neuro ophthalmic OPD in a large multispeciality Eye Institute. Also before planning a child undergo genetic counselling. It will help you understand the risks of disease transmitting to your kids and if any specific tests required during pregnancy. And a eye examination for your kid at less than 6 months, 3 years, 5 years etc. According to international guidelines for routine eye examination. All the best.
