After the cataract operation of my husband, he has become very depressed and anxious, does not want to be left alone etc. He says he doesn't sleep well and sometimes his head becomes heavy (with sleep?) and he just goes off to sleep almost collapses on the bed and is instantly asleep. Now he is getting neck pain too. He does not want to do the other eye operation which is due urgently as he says that he is not in a position and may not be able to keep his eyes open for long. He is sound sensitive and says that during the operation the noise of the machine was very loud and perhaps that is why he does not want to go ahead, he is very nervous. The question is: Is something wrong with his brain and who should I consult - a General Physician or a Psychiatrist.
