Lazy eye or amblyopia develops when in early childhood eye does not get enough stimulation to see or in other words underused. It is generally seen when a child has uncorrected crossed (squinting) eyes or uncorrected high spectacle power. Unfortunately eyesight can not be improved in your case as vision in a lazy eye can be restored only till 8-10 years of age but cosmetic improvement is possible with surgery if your eyes appear to deviate (squint). You should have following examination- 1) refraction - checking proper spectacle power of your eyes. 2) retinal exam to rule out any retinal disease. 3) squint evaluation if your eyes appear to deviate.
