Dear Dr. I am age 30, doing my research in environmental studies. Recently without knowing some drops of benzene (C6H6) were spilled on my face and tongue. I am worrying about it will affect anything to my body r in future. And I have to know how much quantity of benzene will leads to cancer. With regards CS.

Hi. It looks like a serious issue. Benzene is a very volatile compound. Mainly it affects the body through inhalation. And as you r saying it got spilled on your tongue. So in that case, even 0.1 mg of benzene in a litre of drinking water is cancerous. So I suggest to be under regular check up of an oncologist to detect any disease if it starts. Take care.
