Treatment is needed only if you see one or more live lice. Empty eggshells (nits) do not always mean that you are infested with lice. Nits can stick to hair even when lice are gone (for example, after treatment that kills the lice). Currently, there are five main recommended options for clearing head lice: -- dimeticone 4% lotion (trade name: hedrin). --isopropyl myristate and cyclomethicone solution (trade name: full marks solution). --coconut, anise and ylang ylang (cay) spray. --malathion 0.5% aqueous liquid (has various trade names). --wet combing using the bug buster comb and method (see separate leaflet called wet combing treatment for head lice for more detail). The treatment chosen may depend on your personal preference, and what you have tried before (if appropriate). Each treatment has a good chance of clearing head lice if applied or done correctly and if all affected people in the household are treated at the same time. Each treatment is now briefly discussed but for details of how to use each treatment, read the instructions that come with the packaging. Wash the hair using ordinary shampoo and apply plenty of conditioner, before using a wide-toothed comb to straighten and untangle the hair. Once the comb moves freely through the hair without dragging, switch to the louse detection comb. Make sure the teeth of the comb slot into the hair at the roots, with the bevel-edge of the teeth lightly touching the scalp. Draw the comb down to the ends of the hair with every stroke, and check the comb for lice. Remove lice by wiping or rinsing the comb. Work methodically through the hair, section by section, so that the whole head is combed through. Rinse out conditioner and repeat the combing procedure. Repeat the procedure on days three, six, nine, 12 and 15, so that you clear young lice as they hatch, before they have time to reach maturity.

Use a anti lice shampoo apply it in hair and leave it for 10 minutes. Repeat the procedure every week. -using vinegar is an extremely good idea. After washing your hair, take some water and then add equal amounts of vinegar into it and then rinse your hair with this solution you might not know but garlic too helps a lot. Make a paste by grinding 8-10 garlic cloves and add a little lime juice and water into it. Now, apply this paste in the scalp for at least half an hour and then rinse thoroughly. -one can also use neem oil to treat hair louse as it is a natural insecticide.
