Hello lybrate-user. Trans sphenoidal surgery is a delicate surgery involving an area where multiple vital structures are involved. I would like to emphasize that rather than the surgery being a danger to the vision, it is the pathology (disease) in the region that damages the vision more. The surgery, if required, is of utmost importance and should not be avoided. The optic nerve may get affected by the pathology in the region and cause visual loss. Take care-regards
