My hubby keeps tobacco in his mouth. He is not at all able to stop it. So I am worried. Can any 1 please help me to make him stop it. I am fed up of explaining it's side effects. But he is that much addicted to it. He used nicotex and again stopped it and started tobacco again.

Never give up on him. After many attempts he is bound to succeed. I understand your frustration but be patient because as soon as you give up, he will too. Sometimes, it will be your motivation that will goad him on. But be very careful that you don? t nag him. You are what is called a? co-dependent, that is you have become dependent on him dependent on tobacco. You can at the most just remind him, get help for him and then leave it up to him. Ideally, if the motivation comes from him, it is the best. Sometimes, he will need to suffer some complications that will act as a? nail in the coffin? before he is ready to go for help. In addiction parlance, it is called? hitting rock bottom. In the meantime, he should be taken to an addiction counselor and start the process of cleaning up his act. Hypnosis will also help. Whenever he stops, immediately supplement his oral need with some substitute like candies, nicotine gums, juices, soups etc. Also have him visit a dentist and thoroughly clean up his mouth so that he feels bad about staining them again.
