One of my friend is suffering from edema for last 2months. Doctors advise him not to drink water. But in this summer he always asks to drink water. I here want to ask that how much of water he can drink in a day.

Odema is suggestive of that water is retained in the body and drinking more or less water will not solve the purpose------drinking water will add onto the problem right now------------so first and foremost thing is to know about the exact cause of odema---------- 1. Whether your friend is suffering from any heart, kidney of urinary bladder problems---------------- 2. Whether any history of drinking alcohol/smoking---------------- 3. Whether any bp/diabetes problem------------------ please undergo following blood tests---------------- cbc, esr, lft, rft, glucose, lipid profile------ urine exam----routine.
