I have noticed from few years that there is a black line in my left thumb nail. Can you say why do it have that line in my nail, and how to make it go. I had no injuries in that finger and also it is not by birth. It became like that in recent maybe 2 years.

A black discoloration that's a straight vertical line or streak and grows from the nail bed, usually on a single nail. About 75 percent of cases involve the big toe or the thumb--------------although there are many reasons for such dark lines and sometimes more serious underlying problems but it is better to consult a local dermatologist to diagnose your problem but one thing is sure, do not take it lightly---------------------
