I am 30 weeks pregnant and suffering from ringworm. Have got lesions all over my body. Dermatologist have recommended that I can take itraconazole in 8 mnth. Please confirm if it's safe during pregnancy.

Clinical studies have not detected any increased risk during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester, and the fda labels itraconazole category c. Given the risk conveyed by the azole family in humans, the drug should still be avoided during pregnancy, especially during the first trimester.
